''A Trip Without a Load'' (russian: Порожний рейс, Porozhniy reys) is a 1962 Soviet drama film directed by Vladimir Vengerov. It was entered into the 3rd Moscow International Film Festival where it won a Silver Prize. Plot A young novice Muscovite journalist, Pavel Sirotkin, (Aleksandr Demyanenko) is assigned to write an article on the editorial board of the northern timber industry driver, leading toiler Nikolay Khromov (Georgi Yumatov). Ending up in the harsh winter conditions of work and life, at first Sirotkin by chance is confronted with merely with negative developments, and then with outright fraud in the timber industry. Front-rank Khromov is a shrewd operator who deftly manipulates the mileage account, and the company's director Akim Sevastyanovich (Anatoliy Papanov) is a cunning and resourceful chief for whom implementation of the plan at any price is a principle of leadership. Vladimir Yakovlevich Vengerov (russian: Владимир Яковлевич Венгеров; 1920–1997) was a Soviet film director. He directed fourteen films between 1951 and 1985. People's Artist of the RSFSR (1978). Sergei Antonov ( Bulgarian: Сергей Антонов) (11 July 1948 – 1 August 2007) was a Bulgarian airline representative accused of involvement in an assassination attempt against Pope John Paul II by Mehmet Ali Ağca in 1981. Antonov, who worked as a Rome-based representative for Balkan Airlines, Bulgaria's national airline, was arrested in 1981 by Italian authorities and charged with complicity after the assassination attempt against Pope John Paul II by Turkish national Ağca on May 13, 1981. Pope John Paul II was seriously wounded but survived the shooting. Antonov was placed on trial in Italy with three Turks and two other Bulgarians for the attack against the Pope. Ağca named Antonov as his co-conspirator before his conviction for attempted murder. The case against Antonov fell apart.
