Sophistication has come to mean a few things, but its original uses were a pejorative, derived from sophist, and included the idea of admixture or adulteration. A Touch of Class (often shortened in initials as ATC) were an international pop group based in Germany, although the four members each came from different countries—Joseph "Joey" Murray (born 5 July 1974) from New Zealand, Sarah Egglestone (b. 4 April 1975) from Australia, Livio Salvi (b. 25 January 1977) from Italy, and Tracey Elizabeth Packham (b. 30 July 1977) from the United Kingdom. The pop group was active from 1999 to 2003 and their most successful release was "Around the World (La La La La La)", released in 2000. The group disbanded in 2004. Career The four met together in Hamburg, Germany as cast members of the international Broadway theatre German production of the stage musical ''Cats'' from October 1997 to April 1998. Sarah Egglestone played Bombalurina, Livio Salvi played Mungojerrie, Tracey Packham played Syllabub, and Joey Murray played as Munkustrap/ swing dancer. Luke Boyd (born December 13, 1977), better known by his stage name Classified, is a Canadian rapper and record producer from Enfield, Nova Scotia. Touch of Class is an American soul/R&B musical group from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, that had a number of hits in the 1970s including, "I'm in Heaven", "Don't Want No Other Lover", "You Got to Know Better", and "I Need Action". History Career Touch of Class was formed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, with the brothers, Gerald Jackson and Pete Jackson, Herbert Brevard and Michael Hailstock. The band was active from the mid-1970s until mid-1980s. Touch of Class debut album, "I'm I Heaven" was recorded at Sigma Sound Studio in Philadelphia, with some of the musicians from Salsoul Orchestra in the session. ''A Touch of Class'' is a 1973 British romantic comedy film produced and directed by Melvin Frank and starring George Segal, Glenda Jackson, Hildegarde Neil, Paul Sorvino and K Callan. Touch of Class was a bay American-bred Thoroughbred mare who was on United States Equestrian Team at the 1984 Summer Olympics, winning the gold medal in the individual and team show jumping events. She was ridden by Joseph Fargis. History Pre-1984 Olympics Touch of Class was foaled in on April 27, 1973, and was first registered as Stillaspill with the Jockey Club, having a brief racing career before being trained as a show-jumper. In 1981, in her first year at the Grand Prix level, she won classes at several shows, and in 1982 she qualified with Fargis for the USET's team for the World Championships in Dublin. When an injury took Fargis out of the saddle in 1982, Touch of Class was turned over to Conrad Homfeld, and the team won the Grand Prix at Southampton and came in 4th in the 1983 World Cup.
