''A Thousand Miles Behind'' is an album by English singer-songwriter David Gray (musician), David Gray. Released in August 2007, it contains twelve live Cover version, covers recorded between 2001 and 2007. The album title comes from a line in Bob Dylan's song "One Too Many Mornings" (1964). The compilation is only available from Gray's official website or at Gray's live performances. There are four versions of the album available for purchase, at different prices: as a CD, a 128 kbit/s MP3, mp3 download, a 256 kbit/s mp3 download, or a Free Lossless Audio Codec, flac format. The tracks can also be downloaded individually in all of the digital formats. David Peter Gray (born 13 June 1968) is a British singer-songwriter. He released his first album in 1993 and received worldwide attention after the release of '' White Ladder'' six years later. ''White Ladder'' was the first of three UK chart-toppers in six years for Gray; it became the fifth best-selling album of the 2000s in the UK and ranked as the tenth best-selling album of the 21st century in the United Kingdom in October 2019. Marijohn Wilkin
Marijohn Wilkin ( Melson; July 14, 1920 – October 28, 2006) was an American songwriter, famous in country music for writing a number of hits. Wilkin won numerous awards over the years and was referred to as "The Den Mother of Music Row," as chronicled in her 1978 biography ''Lord, Let Me Leave a Song'' (authored with Darryl E. Hicks). It was honored as “One of the 100 Most Important Books about Nashville’s Music Industry.” Biography Wilkin was born in Kemp, Texas and raised in Sanger, Texas, north of Dallas. She became a teacher, and was widowed when her husband Bedford Russell was killed in World War II. She remarried in 1946, with one son; her 1950 marriage to Art Wilkin, Jr. was her third. Her father, a baker, had been a fiddle player. From 1955 she toured with Red Foley, and in 1956 her songs were recorded by Mitchell Torok and Wanda Jackson. "Buckets of Rain" is a song by Bob Dylan, recorded on September 19, 1974 in New York City and released in 1975 on Dylan's critically acclaimed album ''Blood on the Tracks''. A September 18, 1974 outtake of the song was released in 2018 on the single-CD and 2-LP versions of '' The Bootleg Series Vol. 14: More Blood, More Tracks'', with the complete recording sessions released on the deluxe edition of that album. Lewis “Lew” Calvin DeWitt Jr. (March 12, 1938 – August 15, 1990) was an American country music singer, guitarist, and composer. He was a founding member of The Statler Brothers and the group's original tenor. Biography For most of his career, DeWitt sang tenor for The Statler Brothers. Songs he wrote for the group include "Flowers on the Wall"—which was a greatest hit during the late '60s and early '70s that made the group popular—"Things," "Since Then," "Thank You World," "The Strand," "The Movies," and "Chet Atkins' Hand."
