A Taste of Fear (aliases: Something of Fear or A Bit of Fear or Something from Fear or A Touch of Fear, Egyptian Arabic: ''شئ من الخوف'', translit: ''Shey Min El Khouf'' or ''Shey min al-Khouf'') is a 1969 Egyptian film directed by Hussein Kamal and produced by Salah Zulfikar. The film is based on a short story by the great writer Tharwat Abaza, but the greatest credit for the political projections is the result of the modifications made by Abdel Rahman El-Abnudi to the script. The film was filmed in black and white, despite the possibility of filming in color, due to the spread of color films at this time, due to the director Hussein Kamal's exploitation of black and white shades in a skill that would not have been possible if it had been filmed in color. Hussein Kamal
Hussein Kamal () (17 August 1932 – 24 March 2003) was an Egyptian television, film and theatre director. He is considered to be an important director of traditional Egyptian cinema. One of his most famous films is ''Chitchat on the Nile'' (1971), a critique of the decadence of Egyptian society during the Nasser era. His 1972 film '' Empire M'' was entered into the 8th Moscow International Film Festival in 1973. Top 100 Egyptian films aliases: CIFF 100 Egyptian films or Greatest 100 Egyptian films in 20th century or Top 100 films in the centenary of Egyptian cinema (Egyptian Arabic: قائمة أفضل مئة فيلم في مئوية السينما المصرية) is the result of a referendum in which many Egyptian critics participated in 1996 to choose the 100 best Egyptian films of the 20th century, as part of the activities of the Cairo International Film Festival in its 20th edition, on the occasion of the centenary of Egyptian cinema, which coincides with the first film screening in Egypt in 1896. The films were selected from 1927 (where ''Layla'' was shown, the first Egyptian feature-length film) until 1996, and were announced during the celebration that was held in 1996. Muhammad Anwar el-Sadat, (25 December 1918 – 6 October 1981) was an Egyptian politician and military officer who served as the third president of Egypt, from 15 October 1970 until his assassination by fundamentalist army officers on 6 October 1981. Farouk I (; ar, فاروق الأول ''Fārūq al-Awwal''; 11 February 1920 – 18 March 1965) was the tenth ruler of Egypt from the Muhammad Ali dynasty and the penultimate King of Egypt and the Sudan, succeeding his father, Fuad I, in 1936. His full title was "His Majesty Farouk I, by the grace of God, King of Egypt and the Sudan". As king, Farouk was known for his extravagant playboy lifestyle.
