A Taste Of Cold Steel
''A Taste of Cold Steel'' or (Chinese: 武林風雲; ''Wu lin feng yun'') is a 1970 Hong Kong Shaw Brothers' action film adventure directed by Yueh Feng. It is a sequel to Yueh Feng's earlier Shaw Brothers' film, ''Rape of the Sword''. Plot The three Gan sisters are mourning the death of their father when they are visited by Prince Lu Tien Hsia, who wishes to pay his respects. Lu informs them that their father's sword, the Purple Light Sword, should be offered to the Emperor. At that moment, the sisters' cousin, Hsu, arrives and warns them that Lu's real intentions are to steal the sword for himself and that Lu and his father had plotted to kill the Gan sister's father. A battle breaks out and Lu escapes without the sword. Concerned that Lu will return to try and retake the sword, the second Gan sister leaves to seek help from her Uncle, Hsu's father. Yueh Feng
Griffin Yueh Feng (; 1909 or July 29, 1910 – March 3, 1999) was a Chinese film director and screenwriter who worked in the Cinema of Hong Kong. He worked at the Shaw Brothers Studio's for many years and directed nearly 90 films. Early life Yueh was born as Da Zichun () in Shanghai, China. Education Yueh studied at the Asia Photography School. Career Yueh appeared in a film as an extra in 1929. By 1933, Yueh became a director following some experience as an assistant. In 1949, Yueh became a director for Great Wall Company in Hong Kong. Yueh's first Hong Kong film as a director was An Unfaithful Woman (aka A Forgotten Woman), a 1949 Mandarin Drama. Fung Wang-yuen (22 September 1942 – 4 February 2014), better known by his stage name Wu Ma, was a Hong Kong actor, director, producer and writer. Wu Ma made his screen debut in 1963, and with over 240 appearances to his name (plus 49 directorial credits within a fifty-year period), he was one of the most familiar faces in the history of Hong Kong Cinema and is best known as the Taoist ghosthunter in ''A Chinese Ghost Story''. Chan Hung-lit (7 June 1943 – 24 November 2009), was a Hong Kong actor famous for portraying villains from the 1960s to 1980s. Background Chan started his acting career after joining Shaw Brothers Studio in 1964. and mainly acted in ''wuxia'' and martial arts films. He rose to fame after portraying the antagonist in the 1966 ''wuxia'' film, ''Come Drink with Me''. ''Rape of the Sword'' is a 1967 Hong Kong ''wuxia'' film directed by Yueh Feng and produced by the Shaw Brothers Studio, starring Li Li-hua, Lee Ching, Chan Hung-lit, Kiu Chong and Tien Feng. This film is believed by many, including Yuen Woo-ping (action choreographer for the 2000 film ''Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon''), to be a loose adaptation of Wang Dulu's 1941 novel ''Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon'', even though it doesn't explicitly state so.
