A Static Lullaby (album)
''A Static Lullaby'' is the third album by post-hardcore band A Static Lullaby released October 10, 2006 through Fearless Records. This is the first release after the departure of three members of the band's original lineup and is also the only album to feature drummer Jarrod Alexander and guitarist/vocalist John Martinez. Background Following the release of ''Faso Latido'', the band was dropped from their record label, Columbia Records. During this time, guitarist Nate Lindeman and bassist Phil Pirrone left to form Casket Salesmen. Shortly after this, drummer Brett Dinovo left the band. John Martinez, Dane Poppin and Jarrod Alexander were hired on guitar, bass and drums, respectively. A Static Lullaby was an American post-hardcore band that formed in Chino Hills, California, in 2001. History Early years and formation (2001–2002) A Static Lullaby came together after a high school jam session led to the members to quit their existing bands and come together as one. The group began with singer Joe Brown, bassist Phil Pirrone, drummer Brett Dinovo, and guitarists Dan Arnold and Nathan Lindeman. Their first show was a mere two weeks after forming, and it started a buzz about the band that continued to be built upon throughout the local circuit. In September of 2001, the band recorded their first home made song called "Withered". They additionally recorded the songs "Love to Hate, Hate to Love", "The Shooting Star That Destroyed Us All", "A Sip of Wine Chased With Cyanide" and "Charred Fields of Snow" for their self-titled demo EP. Casket Salesmen
Casket Salesmen was an experimental progressive-rock band from Corona, California that was active from 2006 to 2010. History Casket Salesmen formed after bassist Phil Pirrone suffered a horrific car accident and, following a lengthy recovery, decided to abandon his post in the band A Static Lullaby. The band was formed in 2005 by Phil Pirrone and Nathan Lindeman, after leaving their former band A Static Lullaby to pursue a different musical direction. Pirrone had started A Static Lullaby in 2001 with Joe Brown and Dan Arnold when he was 16 years old. The band members played in several bands at Ayala High School. Their first album, ''Sleeping Giants'', was engineered by Justin Gutierrez. Casket Salesmen produced the record themselves at their house in Corona, CA, which also served as the headquarters for Justin's Solunaris Studios and Phil's record label, Longhair Illuminati. Piano
The piano is a stringed keyboard instrument in which the strings are struck by wooden hammers that are coated with a softer material (modern hammers are covered with dense wool felt; some early pianos used leather). Screaming is an extended vocal technique that is popular in "aggressive" music genres such as heavy metal, punk rock, and noise music and others. It is common in the more extreme subgenres of heavy metal, such as death and black metal as well as many other subgenres. Genres Classical and experimental music Although screams are often suggested in stories performed in the grand opera tradition, they were never performed literally, always being sung. The first significant example of an actual scream in an opera is in Alban Berg's ''Wozzeck'' (1922), where the eponymous character screams "Murder! Murder!" in the fourth scene of Act III. ''Details'' is the sole studio album by British electronic duo Frou Frou. It was released on June 4, 2002 by MCA Records in the United States and by Island Records internationally. Commercial performance As of 2009, songs "Let Go" has sold 370,000 units in the US while the album has sold 284,000 copies in the US and 29,000 copies in the UK. Reception ''Play'' reviewed ''Details'' positively, calling the duo "refreshing" and "not the typical electronic dance-music factory drones" and writing, "This melodic, occasionally striking collection of new-wave dance songs doesn't reek of overproduction, benefiting greatly from the pleasing, softening array of live instruments." Guy Sigsworth
Guy Sigsworth is an English record producer and songwriter. During his career, he has worked with many artists, including Seal, Björk, Goldie, Madonna, Britney Spears, Kate Havnevik, Imogen Heap, Bebel Gilberto, Mozez, David Sylvian, Alanis Morissette, Eric Whitacre, Alison Moyet, and AURORA . He has also collaborated with many celebrated instrumental musicians, including Talvin Singh, Jon Hassell, and Lester Bowie. Imogen Jennifer Heap (born 9 December 1977) is a British musician, singer, songwriter and record producer. Her work has been considered pioneering in pop and electropop music. Frou Frou () are a British electronic duo composed of musician Imogen Heap and producer/songwriter Guy Sigsworth. They released their only album, ''Details,'' in 2002. The duo wrote, produced, and played instruments on the tracks, while Heap also provided lead vocals. In 2004, they recorded a cover of "Holding Out for a Hero" by Bonnie Tyler, which was used in the credits of the 2004 film ''Shrek 2''. Frou Frou amicably disbanded later that year. AFI (abbreviation for A Fire Inside) is an American rock band from Ukiah, California, formed in 1991.
