A Road And A Will
''A Road and a Will'' is a 1997 Hong Kong television drama produced by TVB and starring Lawrence Cheng, Wayne Lai, Maggie Cheung Ho-yee and Cutie Mui. The series was broadcast on TVB Jade from 26 May to 20 June 1997 and was re-aired several times in June 1999, March 2004 and August 2007. Plot A drama depicting the struggle of Sam (Lawrence Cheng), a senior executive in Hong Kong who has been laid off unexpectedly, in starting a business in Guangzhou. Sam was torn apart when his wife, Chow Mo-chi (Claudia Lau) prompted him with a divorce after he lost his job. Distressed, he decided to go to Guangzhou for a new start and retracts his ancestral house. There, he lands in a dispute with a local merchant named Ng Kin-ngai (Wayne Lai). Fortunately, with the help of Mo-chi's cousin, Chai Ho-fung (Maggie Cheung), Sam and Kin-ngai finally come to terms with each other. Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB) is a television broadcasting company based in Hong Kong SAR. The Company operates five free-to-air terrestrial television channels in Hong Kong, with TVB Jade as its main Cantonese language service, and TVB Pearl as its main English service. TVB is headquartered at TVB City at the Tseung Kwan O Industrial Estate. TVB commenced broadcasting on November 19, 1967. Hoyan Mok () is a Hong Kong actress. She won the 1993 Miss Hong Kong Pageant and worked as an actress for TVB in the 1990s. She was president of Wai Yin Association in 2009–2010. Mok is married to Alex Fong Chung-sun who is also a Hong Kong actor. Artistic career In the 1993 Miss Hong Kong Pageant, Mok beat Kenix Kwok, who was considered a favourite to win, having won two side awards including Media's Favourite and Potential Artist. The Cultural Revolution, formally known as the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution, was a sociopolitical movement in the People's Republic of China (PRC) launched by Mao Zedong in 1966, and lasting until his death in 1976. Its stated goal was to preserve Chinese communism by purging remnants of capitalist and traditional elements from Chinese society.
