''A Real Man'' (Swedish: ''Karl för sin hatt'') is a 1940 Swedish comedy film directed by Schamyl Bauman and starring Adolf Jahr, Birgit Tengroth and Sigurd Wallén.Qvist & Von Bagh p.69 It was shot at the Centrumateljéerna Studios in Stockholm. The film's sets were designed by the art director Arthur Spjuth. Schamyl Bauman
Magnus Schamyl Bauman (4 December 1893 Р28 February 1966) was a Swedish film director (in 1931-57). Born in Vimmerby, Sm̴land. First studied law and modern languages at Uppsala University. In 1917 he began to work with translating text lines for international silent films (to Swedish), which he did successful throughout the 1920s. In this way he watched many different films by some of the best silent film directors in the world which started an interest in filmmaking and in the arts of film. In 1929-30 he started the film company Europafilm with Gustaf Scheutz where he made some of his early films as a director. He later started a company with the influential film personality and business man Anders Sandrew in 1939, ''AB Sandrew-Bauman Film'', where he made his most successful films, among others his popular " Sickan Carlsson-films", where his most popular and critically praised film was the 1949 comedy ''Skolka skolan (Playing Truant)'' with Carlsson in the lead. Stig Järrel
Stig Järrel (8February 19101July 1998) was a Swedish actor, film director and revue artist. Järrel was one of the most popular actors in Sweden during his career, and also one of the most productive, participating in a total of 131 films. He also performed as an actor at various Swedish theatres and was a frequent guest on radio and television. Biography Stig Järrel was born Stig Ohlson in Malmberget in northern Sweden in 1910. In 1929, he was admitted as a drama student at the Royal Dramatic Theatre's Royal Dramatic Training Academy in Stockholm, and worked later for actor Gösta Ekman. He made his debut in a 1936 film with actor Edvard Persson called ''Larsson i det andra giftet''. John Botvid (12 September 1889 – 20 February 1964) was a Swedish actor and comedian. Biography John Botvid Börjesson was born at Gothenburg, Sweden. Botvid debuted as a film actor in 1917. Knut Gunnar Johanson (13 November 1909 – 24 May 1986) was a Swedish actor known for his frequent work with writer and director Ingmar Bergman. Biography Björnstrand was born Knut Gunnar Johanson in Stockholm as son of actor Oscar Johanson and Ella Mauléon.
