A Musical Affair
''A Musical Affair'' is the seventh studio album by the classical crossover group Il Divo. Il Divo is a group of four male singers: French pop singer Sébastien Izambard, Spanish baritone Carlos Marín, American tenor David Miller, and Swiss tenor Urs Bühler. The album was released on 5 November 2013, and has the participation of singers such as Barbra Streisand, Nicole Scherzinger, Kristin Chenoweth and Michael Ball, among others. The album's songs are compiled from famous plays and musicals including ''The Lion King'', ''The Phantom of the Opera'', ''Les Misérables'', ''West Side Story'' and ''Cats'', among others. The French version of the album ''A Musical Affair'' which was published on 24 November 2014, includes duets with French singers; the songs are sung partially or entirely in French. Il Divo
Il Divo (; ) are a multi-national classical crossover vocal group. The male quartet, which originated in the United Kingdom in December 2003, consists of tenors Urs Bühler, David Miller, and Sébastien Izambard. It also included baritone Carlos Marín before his death from COVID-19 in late 2021. Il Divo was created and promoted by Simon Cowell for the label Syco Music (a subsidiary of Sony Music). Michael Ball (singer)
Michael Ashley Ball (born 27 June 1962) is an English singer, presenter and actor. He made his West End debut in 1985 playing Marius Pontmercy in the original London production of ''Les Misérables'', and went on to star in 1987 as Raoul in ''The Phantom of the Opera''. In 1989, he reached number two in the UK Singles Chart with " Love Changes Everything", a song taken from the musical ''Aspects of Love'', where he played Alex. He played the role in London and on Broadway. His album ''Coming Home To You'' reached number one in the UK making it his 4th number one album to date. Memory (Cats Song)
"Memory" is a show tune composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber, with lyrics by Trevor Nunn based on poems by T. S. Eliot. It was written for the 1981 musical ''Cats'', where it is sung primarily by the character Grizabella as a melancholic remembrance of her glamorous past and as a plea for acceptance. "Memory" is the climax of the musical and by far its best-known song, having achieved mainstream success outside of the musical. According to musicologist Jessica Sternfeld, writing in 2006, it is "by some estimations the most successful song ever from a musical." Elaine Paige originated the role of Grizabella in the West End production of ''Cats'' and was thus the first to perform the song publicly on stage. "Memory" was named the Best Song Musically and Lyrically at the 1982 Ivor Novello Awards. SARM Studios
Sarm Studios is an independent recording studio in London. Originally founded in east London in 1973, the studio's original location was renamed Sarm East Studios in 1982 when Jill Sinclair and Trevor Horn purchased Basing Street Studios from Island Records and renamed it Sarm West Studios. Sarm Studios original locations were eventually succeeded by the Sarm Music Village complex.
