''A Mark, a Mission, a Brand, a Scar'' is the third studio album by American band Dashboard Confessional. Background Dashboard Confessional started as the one-man acoustic project of vocalist/guitarist Chris Carrabba. The project's second album ''The Places You Have Come to Fear the Most'' (2001), released through independent label Vagrant Records, featured a full band on a few of the songs. The album become Vagrant's best-selling release. Lead single "Screaming Infidelities" became a hit at modern rock radio stations. The ''So Impossible EP'', made in collaboration with guitarist Dan Hoerner of Sunny Day Real Estate, was released in December. It was followed by a companion piece, the '' Summers Kiss EP'' in April 2002. Later in 2002, Dashboard Confessional taped a performance for MTV's ''Unplugged'' series, which was later released as ''MTV Unplugged 2.0''. Dashboard Confessional is an American rock band from Boca Raton, Florida, led by singer Chris Carrabba. The name of the band is derived from the songThe Sharp Hint of New Tears off their debut album, ''The Swiss Army Romance''. History Early history (1999–2002) Dashboard Confessional's first recording was the 2000 album ''The Swiss Army Romance'', initially a solo side project of Chris Carrabba while he was in the band Further Seems Forever. The following year, Further Seems Forever, with Chris Carrabba, recorded its debut album, ''The Moon Is Down''. Mike Marsh (musician)
Mike Marsh (born August 13, 1974 in Miami, Florida) is the drummer for The Avett Brothers and formerly of Dashboard Confessional. Mike was featured on all Dashboard Confessional's albums, from ''The Places You Have Come To Fear The Most'' to ''Alter the Ending''. He also played with them for MTV Unplugged. In 2006, Marsh and Dashboard Confessional did an AOL Sessions recording, playing not only their songs, but a cover of "In A Big Country" by Big Country. According to posts by Mike on Facebook, he officially joined The Avett Brothers as their drummer in early 2013. Mike is also an engineer and record producer. He has a recording studio in East Nashville called Papermill Studio. Biography Marsh started drumming in 9th grade around 13 years of age. Jimmy Eat World is an American rock band formed in 1993 in Mesa, Arizona. Stephan Jenkins
Stephan Douglas Jenkins ( ; born September 27, 1964) is an American singer, guitarist, and the frontman of the alternative rock band Third Eye Blind. He began his musical career in 1992 as part of the short-lived rap duo Puck and Natty, alongside Detroit rapper Herman Anthony Chunn. Following the breakup of the duo, Jenkins and guitarist Kevin Cadogan formed Third Eye Blind in 1993. The band released their eponymous debut studio album in 1997, which went multi-platinum in the United States. Third Eye Blind is an American rock band formed in San Francisco, California, in 1993. After years of lineup changes in the early and mid-1990s, the songwriting duo of Stephan Jenkins and Kevin Cadogan signed the band's first major-label recording contract with Elektra Records in 1996. The band released their self-titled debut album in 1997, with the band largely consisting of Jenkins (vocals, rhythm guitar), Cadogan (lead guitar), Arion Salazar (bass guitar), and Brad Hargreaves (drums). Shortly after the release of the band's second album in 1999, ''Blue'', with the same line-up, Cadogan was released from the band under controversial circumstances. Manic Street Preachers, also known simply as the Manics, are a Welsh Rock music, rock band formed in Blackwood, Caerphilly, Blackwood in 1986. Robert C. Ludwig (born c. 1945) is an American mastering engineer. He has mastered recordings on all the major recording formats for all the major record labels, and on projects by more than 1,300 artists including Led Zeppelin, Lou Reed, Queen, Jimi Hendrix, Bryan Ferry, Paul McCartney, Nirvana, Bruce Springsteen and Daft Punk resulting in over 3,000 credits.
