A Low Hum
A Low Hum is the ongoing project founded by photographer and music impresario Blink (born Ian Jorgensen), and is based in Wellington, New Zealand. Under the umbrella A LOW HUM, Blink organises tours, releases records, makes music videos, organises one-off events/festivals and publishes magazines and books. As of 2009, A Low Hum has organised and supported tours for over seventy musical acts from New Zealand, United States, Australia and beyond. In 2006, tours occurred every month and comprised between two and four rising Kiwi bands who played venues and gigs in about a dozen New Zealand locales along the way. In conjunction with each tour, A Low Hum published an A5 magazine, usually including a feature album or EP (often unreleased material by bands) and a music compilation CD with songs by local and international acts. Ian Jorgensen
Ian Francis Jorgensen (also known as Blink) is a Wellington-based events manager, editor and photographer. He is the producer of the New Zealand music compilation and magazine series ''A Low Hum''. Blink was also the principal photographer for the book, NZ Rock: 1987–2007, written by Gareth Shute, published in 2008. Since 2007 Ian has been running a music festival called Camp A Low Hum. Lawrence Arabia is the musical guise of New Zealand artist and composer James Milne. In 2006, Lawrence Arabia released his self-titled debut album and the debut album from his band The Reduction Agents, ''The Dance Reduction Agents''. Both albums were nominated for several bNet awards, New Zealand's public voted alternative radio awards. Ned Collette (born 6 September 1979) is an Australian singer, instrumentalist, songwriter, and producer now based in Berlin. He was a member of Melbourne instrumental band City City City and has since then recorded six albums, either as solo productions or with his band, Wirewalker. MY DISCO (stylised in capitals) is an Australian music group formed in 2003. It contains members from Agents of Abhorrence and Clann Zú. Justice Yeldham
Lucas Abela (born 7 May 1972), also known by the stage name Justice Yeldham, is an Australian noise musician. He is most famous for creating an instrument made from a diamond-shaped pane of glass, fitted with contact microphones and attached to effects pedals. During live shows, he manipulates and breaks the glass with his mouth, often receiving cuts in the process and leaving his face and the instrument smeared in blood. Crayon Fields is a four-piece Melbourne-based music group signed to the labels Chapter Music and Rallye. They have been described as lo-fi with an artful naïve-pop aesthetic. Bonaparte is the stage name of Berlin-based Swiss electronic rock songwriter and producer Tobias Jundt. Baseball are an Australian indie punk band formed by mainstay front man, Cameron Potts, on lead vocals and violin, in 1995. Their influences range from Eastern European and Middle-Eastern Gypsy music and Sufi poetry to bands like The Ex, the Pixies and Led Zeppelin. They disbanded in 2010 and reformed late in 2016. Samuel Flynn Scott
Samuel Flynn Scott (born 1978) is a New Zealand musician and composer, and a founding member of The Phoenix Foundation. Early life and career Scott was born in Wellington, New Zealand in 1978. His father, Tom Scott, is a notable author and political cartoonist. Scott attended Wellington High School, where he founded The Phoenix Foundation with Luke Buda and Conrad Wedde in 1997. Solo music In 2004, Scott formed a new band named Bunnies on Ponies, in order to try out some songs that didn't fit with the Phoenix Foundation sound.
