	A Lover In Pawn ''A Lover in Pawn'' ( sv, Mästerman) is a 1920 Swedish silent drama film directed by Victor Sjöström. The film was premiered on 11 October and was shot in the Råsunda Film City with exteriors from Öregrund, Vallentuna and Gävle by J. Julius. The film was provided with hand-texted texts and drawn vignettes, executed by the artist Arthur Sjögren. 	Victor Sjöström Victor David Sjöström (; 20 September 1879 – 3 January 1960), also known in the United States as Victor Seastrom, was a pioneering Swedish film director, screenwriter, and actor. He began his career in Sweden, before moving to Hollywood in 1924. Sjöström worked primarily in the silent era; his best known films include ''The Phantom Carriage'' (1921), ''He Who Gets Slapped'' (1924), and '' The Wind'' (1928). Sjöström was Sweden's most prominent director in the "Golden Age of Silent Film" in Europe. Later in life, he played the leading role in Ingmar Bergman's '' Wild Strawberries'' (1957). 	Olof Ås Olof Alvar Hage Ås (21 September 1892 – 4 September 1949) was a Swedish people, Swedish theater and film actor stage manager. Ås was born in Stockholm, and begin his career on the stage. He then began a career in the 1910s as a stage manager. Some of his work as a stage manager includes films such as Victor Sjöström's ''The Lass from the Stormy Croft'' (Swedish: ''Tösen från Stormyrtorpet'') (1917) and Mauritz Stiller's ''Gösta Berlings saga'' (1922), for which he also worked on special effects. Ås made his film debut in the 1912 Paul Garbagni-directed ''I lifvets vår'' and would appear in nearly 30 films (most of them directed by either Stiller or Sjöström) until his death in Tureberg, Sollentuna Municipality, following a road accident, aged 56. 	Hjalmar Bergman Hjalmar Fredrik Elgérus Bergman (19 September 1883 in Örebro, Sweden – 1 January 1931 in Berlin, Germany) was a Swedish writer and playwright. Biography The son of a banker in Örebro, Bergman briefly studied philosophy at Uppsala University but soon broke off his studies and took up the life of a free writer. He married Stina Lindberg, the daughter of actor and stage producer August Lindberg and Augusta Lindberg, and sister of Per Lindberg. Up to his father's death in 1915 Bergman was heavily sponsored by the family patriarch; after the old man died from a stroke it turned out that the family business had become highly indebted and Bergman was forced to start making money out of his writing and court readers in a more outgoing and more entertaining manner. He rose to the challenge and in the following ten years reached the peak of his work.
