''A Los Campesinos! Christmas'' is a Christmas EP released by Welsh indie pop band Los Campesinos! on 8 December 2014. The record compiles Christmas songs from past years, in addition to new tracks and a cover of Mud's 1974 Christmas number one " Lonely This Christmas". It was released through Turnstile and Heart Swells via iTunes and on 12-inch vinyl, pressed on white, with a CD copy and Christmas card (designed by Rob Taylor) signed by the band included. Los Campesinos!
Los Campesinos! are a seven-piece indie pop band from Cardiff, Wales, formed in early 2006 at Cardiff University. Though the band formed in Wales, none of the members are Welsh. The band has gone through several lineup changes during their career, with their current lineup consisting of Gareth Paisey (lead vocals, lyrics, glockenspiel), Neil Turner (guitar), Tom Bromley (guitar), Rob Taylor (guitar, other instruments), Kim Paisey (keyboards, vocals), Matt Fidler (bass) and Jason Adelinia (drums); the members replace their surnames with "Campesinos!" as stage names. Gareth Paisey, Turner and Bromley are the only remaining original members still in the band. Influenced by the twee pop movement, the band released their debut studio album, '' Hold on Now, Youngster...'', in February 2008, and followed up with '' We Are Beautiful, We Are Doomed'', in October that year. Indie pop (also typeset as indie-pop or indiepop) is a music genre and subculture that combines guitar pop with DIY ethic in opposition to the style and tone of mainstream pop music. Christmas music comprises a variety of genres of music regularly performed or heard around the Christmas season. ''No Blues'' is the fifth studio album by Welsh indie rock band Los Campesinos!. It was released on 29 October 2013 via Wichita Recordings, Turnstile and Heart Swells. The album was produced by John Goodmanson and guitarist Tom Bromley, and is the first to not feature founding bassist Ellen Waddell, who amicably left the group in late 2012. The first single, "What Death Leaves Behind", was released as a free download on the band's SoundCloud page on 29 August 2013. The second single, "Avocado, Baby", was released on 8 October 2013. ''Sick Scenes'' is the sixth studio album by Welsh indie rock band Los Campesinos!. The album was released on 24 February 2017 by Wichita Recordings. The album was produced by John Goodmanson and the band's guitarist Tom Bromley at a studio in the Fridão parish of Amarante, Portugal. It is the band's first album to feature bassist Matt Fidler, who joined the group in 2014. Background After releasing their fifth album ''No Blues'' in 2013, the members of Los Campesinos! all got full-time jobs and put the band on a hiatus of sorts. When they realized it was the ten-year anniversary of their formation in 2016, they began discussing the possibility of a sixth album.
