A Life For Do
''A Life for Do'' (german: Ein Leben für Do) is a 1954 West German drama film directed by Gustav Ucicky and starring Hans Söhnker, Paola Loew and Heidi Becker. It was shot at the Tempelhof Studios in West Berlin and on location around Lucerne and Zurich. The film's sets were designed by the art directors Emil Hasler and Walter Kutz. Plot Do lives with her foster father on a farm in South Africa. Concerned that she is developing romantic feelings for him he sends her away to school in Switzerland. Gustav Ucicky (6 July 1899 – 27 April 1961) was an Austrians, Austrian film director, screenwriter, and cinematographer. He was one of the more successful directors in Austria and Germany from the 1930s through to the early 1960s. Iwa Wanja (10 October 1905 – 26 June 1991) was a Bulgarian actress based in Germany. She moved to Berlin to pursue her career, appearing in around thirty German films. Married to Norbert Schultze, German composer, best remembered for having written the melody of the World War II classic Lili Marleen. Life and career In 1937, Wanja appeared in the Nazi propaganda film, ''Urlaub auf Ehrenwort'' (''Holiday on Parole'', also known as ''Furlough on Parole''). Sometime around 1943, she wed German film composer Norbert Arnold Wilhelm Richard Shultze. They had two sons together. Brigitte Rau (31 December 1933 – 24 September 1979) was a German actress. Life Brigitte Rau was born on the last day of 1933, the daughter of Otto Kurt Rau and Martha Adele Örtel.
