''A Intrusa'' is a 1979 Brazilian drama film directed by Carlos Hugo Christensen, based on the short story "La intrusa" by Jorge Luis Borges. The film is about the parallel lives of two gaucho brothers with Danish ancestry. It was shot in Uruguaiana, Rio Grande do Sul. Carlos Hugo Christensen
Carlos Hugo Christensen (Santiago del Estero, 15 December 1914 – Rio de Janeiro, 30 November 1999) was an Argentina, Argentine film director, screenwriter and film producer. He was of Danes, Danish descent through his paternal side. Christensen directed fifty-four feature films some of which are considered masterpieces of what is known as the Argentine golden era of cinema. ''Si Muero antes de despertar'' (''If I Should Die Before I Wake'') and ''No abras nunca esa puerta'' (''Never Open That Door''), were part of a retrospective at the Museum of Modern Art in New York in 2016. Maria Zilda Bethlem (born October 20, 1951), also known as Maria Zilda, is a Brazilian actress. She is known for the role Verônica in the Rede Globo telenovela ''Vereda Tropical''. She won the Best Actress Award at the 1993 Brasília Film Festival for her performance in ''Vagas para Moças de Fino Trato'', also winning the same award at the 2000 Gramado Film Festival for her role in ''Eu Não Conhecia Tururu''.
