Giuseppe Vari (9 March 1924 – 1 October 1993) was an Italian film director, editor and screenwriter. Life and career Born in Segni, Rome, Vari started his career as an editor of films and documentaries, collaborating among others with Federico Fellini, Damiano Damiani and Giorgio Simonelli. In 1953 he made his directorial debut with ''Infame accusa'', then specialized in melodramatic films. From the early sixties he focused on genre films, especially Spaghetti Westerns, sometimes being credited as Joseph Warren. Adriano Bolzoni (14 April 1919 – 2003) was an Italian journalist, writer and film director. Life and career Born in Cremona, Bolzoni started his career as a journalist, being war correspondent from the front of World War II. Later, he became director of ''Reporter'', a right-wing weekly magazine published between 1959 and 1960 which is best remembered for having Pier Paolo Pasolini as film critic. In the 1960s he became editor of the newspaper ''Corriere della Sera''. Bolzoni entered the cinema industry in 1948, collaborating at the screenplay of the adventure film ''I contrabbandieri del mare'', directed by Roberto Bianchi Montero; later he was a prolific screenwriter, arousing some fame with several successful Spaghetti Westerns and poliziotteschi. Roberto Pregadio
Roberto Pregadio (6 December 1928 – 15 November 2010) was an Italian composer, conductor and TV-personality. Born in Catania and graduated in piano at the San Pietro a Majella Conservatory in Naples, in 1960 Pregadio became a pianist in the RAI Light Music Orchestra.Enzo Giannelli. "Pregadio, Roberto". Spaghetti Western
The Spaghetti Western is a broad subgenre of Western films produced in Europe. It emerged in the mid-1960s in the wake of Sergio Leone's film-making style and international box-office success. The term was used by foreign critics because most of these Westerns were produced and directed by Italians. Leone's films and other core Spaghetti Westerns are often described as having eschewed, criticized, or even "demythologized" many of the conventions of traditional U.S. Westerns. This was partly intentional and partly the context of a different cultural background. Terminology According to veteran Spaghetti Western actor Aldo Sambrell, the phrase "Spaghetti Western" was coined by Spanish journalist Alfonso Sánchez in reference to the Italian food spaghetti. Dragomir Bojanić
Dragomir Bojanić ( sr-cyrl, Драгомир Бојанић; 13 June 1933 – 11 November 1993), also known by his nickname Gidra, was a Serbian actor. In several Italian films he was credited as Anthony Ghidra. He appeared in many Yugoslav films, and even some international productions, usually playing villains. The best known of such roles is Kondor, German secret agent in popular 1972 film ''Valter brani Sarajevo''. He is, however, best known for the comical role of family patriarch Žika Pavlović, which he played 10 times in the '' Lude godine'' series. Gidra died in 1993 at the age of sixty. Claudio Undari (12 January 1935 – 12 May 2008), known professionally as Robert Hundar, was an Italian film actor and stage actor, best known for his roles of "Bad Guy" in Spaghetti Western and "Poliziottesco" movies. He starred in about 40 movies between 1960 and 1980. Born in Castelvetrano, Trapani and spent his youth in Catania. He debuted in 1956 and he then moved to Madrid to keep up his busy career. Giuseppe Addobbati (31 December 1909 – 4 January 1986) was an Italian film actor known for his roles in Spaghetti Western and action films in the 1960s and 1970s. He was often billed as John MacDouglas for films released to an American audience. Addobbati was born in Makarska and later lived in Trieste. He made over 80 film appearances between 1937 and 1980 often as a police officer or law enforcer. This list of Spaghetti Western films includes Western films primarily produced and directed by Italian production companies between 1913 and 1978. For a list of non-Italian produced European Westerns see List of Euro-Western films. In the 1960s, the Spaghetti Western genre grew in popularity. Films, particularly those of the influential Dollars trilogy, spawned numerous films of the same ilk and often with similar titles, particularly from the mid to late 1960s and early 1970s.
