''A Hero's Death'' is the second studio album by Irish post-punk band Fontaines D.C. The album was released on 31 July 2020 through Partisan Records, less than 18 months after the release of their debut album ''Dogrel''. The album received critical acclaim upon its release, signifying a partial departure from their bubbling and anxiety-inducing post-punk sound found on their first record to the incorporation of more dream-like and psychedelic aspects having taken inspiration from The Beach Boys, to name but one of many influences, during the writing of the record. The album received a nomination for Best Rock Album at the 2021 Grammy Awards, while also garnering the band a nomination for the Brit Award for International Group at the 2021 Brit Awards and Album of the Year at the 2020 Choice Music Prize. Cú Chulainn ( ), called the Hound of Ulster (Irish: ''Cú Uladh''), is a warrior hero and demigod in the Ulster Cycle of Irish mythology, as well as in Scottish and Manx folklore. Haldern Pop is an annual German open air music festival, first held in 1984. It takes place in Rees-Haldern (North Rhine-Westphalia). Focus The Haldern Pop Festival cannot be limited to one genre. The Y Not Festival is an annual music festival held in Pikehall, Derbyshire, United Kingdom. It first took place in 2005, at a disused quarry site as a party for around 120 people organised by Ralph Broadbent who was planning a party in the garden of his parents' house but had to relocate when his parents didn't go away as planned. For the first year it went under the name of the Big Gin Festival (a play on its location near Biggin in the Peak District). The main stage at the festival has retained this name as The Big Gin Stage. The following year it was renamed Y Not Festival with the public being invited and with attendances increasing year on year (to 15,000 in 2015) and eventually relocating to its current site at Pikehall in Derbyshire. Dour Festival is an annual music festival in the municipality of Dour, Belgium. Since its creation in 1988, the festival has grown to an attendance of about 225,000 in 2015 (over 5 days). The first year, only five bands were programmed (including Bernard Lavilliers). The festival format now consists of 5 days, 9 stages and more than 280 bands and DJs. TRNSMT (pronounced as "Transmit") is a music festival staged at Glasgow Green in Glasgow, Scotland, organised by DF Concerts. History An early line-up for the first TRNSMT festival was revealed in January 2017, two months after the announcement that T in the Park (also organised by DF Concerts) would not be staged that year.
