''A Gangstergirl'' ( nl, Het Gangstermeisje) is a 1966 Dutch drama film directed by Frans Weisz. It was entered into the 17th Berlin International Film Festival. Plot A popular young writer cannot decide which direction his life should go in. Should he stay at home with his wife and his typewriter? Travel to a movie-centric Italian town? He stays at the house of two gay friends while trying to figure this out. Frans Weisz
Frans Weisz (born 23 July 1938) is a Dutch film director. He has directed more than 30 films since 1964. His 1975 film ''Red Sien'' was entered into the 9th Moscow International Film Festival. His film ''Havinck'' was screened in the Un Certain Regard section the 1988 Cannes Film Festival. His 1993 film '' The Betrayed'' was entered into the 43rd Berlin International Film Festival. Weisz is Jewish. During the war he was hiding with his parents on a farm in Limburg. They were discovered, Frans managed to escape but his parents were captured. They were transported to Auschwitz concentration camp, his mother survived, his father did not. Peter Schat
Peter Ane Schat (5 June 1935, in Utrecht – 3 February 2003, in Amsterdam) was a Dutch composer. Schat studied composition with Kees van Baaren at the Utrecht Conservatoire and the Royal Conservatory of The Hague from 1952 until 1958, and then went on to study in London with Mátyás Seiber in 1959 and with Pierre Boulez in Basle in 1960–61. His early training with van Baaren and Seiber disposed him toward twelve-tone technique, and his earliest compositions, such as the ''Introductie en adagio in oude stijl'' (1954) and the Septet (1957), combine traditional forms with dodecaphony. Boulez, however, led him to a more radical, strict form of serialism, and he was regarded in the Netherlands as one of the outstanding representatives of the avant garde. While still a student he created his opus 1, Passacaglia and Fugue for organ (1954), and Septet (1957). In 1957 he also won the Gaudeamus International Composers Award.
