''A Free Woman'' ( it, Una donna libera) is a 1954 Cinema of Italy, Italian melodrama film directed by Vittorio Cottafavi. The film's sets were designed by the art director Dario Cecchi. In 2008, the film was included on the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism, Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage’s 100 film italiani da salvare, 100 Italian films to be saved, a list of 100 films that "have changed the collective memory of the country between 1942 and 1978." Vittorio Cottafavi (30 January 1914 – 14 December 1998) was an Italian film director and screenwriter. He directed 70 films between 1943 and 1985. His film '' Il diavolo sulle colline'' was screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the 1985 Cannes Film Festival. Gino Cervi
Luigi Cervi (3 May 1901 – 3 January 1974), better known as Gino Cervi (), was an Italian actor. He was best known for portraying Peppone in a series of comedies based on the character ''Don Camillo'' (1952-1965), and police detective Jules Maigret on the television series ''Le inchieste del commissario Maigret'' (1964-1972). Life and career Cervi was born in Bologna as Luigi Cervi. His father was Antonio Cervi, a theatre critic for ''Il Resto del Carlino''. His family held close ties to the town of Casalbuttano ed Uniti, where the elder Cervi would eventually be buried after his death. Galeazzo Benti
Galeazzo Benti (6 August 1923 – 21 April 1993) was an Italian actor. He appeared in more than 70 films between 1942 and 1991. Life and career Born Galeazzo Bentivoglio in Florence, Italy, a descendant of the Bentivoglio family, which ruled Bologna from 1401 until 1506 and from 1511 until 1512, he started his career as a cartoonist and a set designer. After his first roles in 1942, he had his breakout in 1943, in Sergio Tofano's ''Gian Burrasca'', in which he played a frivolous and falsely modest snob, a role he specialized during his career. After successfully alternating between cinema and revue, in the late 1950s he moved to Venezuela, where he worked in a television channel dedicated to Italian immigrants. He came back to Italy in the early 1980s, and here he reprised his acting career equally splitting between films and TV-series until his death from a heart attack in 1993. Christine Carère (27 July 1930 – 13 December 2008), born Christine de Borde, was a French film actress who co-starred in the 1966 American television series ''Blue Light''.
