''A Farmhouse Christmas'' is the first Christmas album by American country music duo Joey + Rory. It was released on October 11, 2011 via Vanguard Records and Sugar Hill Records. The album contains twelve tracks, ten of which are either new or not traditionally associated with Christmas. It includes the standards "Away in a Manger" and " Blue Christmas," as well as a cover of Merle Haggard's "If We Make It Through December "If We Make It Through December" is a song written and recorded by American country music singer Merle Haggard and The Strangers (American band), the Strangers. It was released in October 1973 as the lead single from the album ''Merle Haggard's Ch ..." featuring background vocals from Haggard. Joey + Rory was an American country and bluegrass duo composed of singer-songwriters Rory Lee Feek (born April 25, 1965) and Joey Feek (September 9, 1975 – March 4, 2016), who were husband and wife. Both members of the duo were vocalists and songwriters, with Rory also playing acoustic guitar. Rory Lee Feek had written singles for other artists prior to the duo's foundation. The duo was the third-place finalist on CMT's competition ''Can You Duet'' in 2008. The duo recorded eight studio albums for Vanguard Records and Gaither Music Group and charted three singles on Hot Country Songs. Stephanie Davis (born in Montana) is an American country music singer and songwriter. She has written songs for Shelby Lynne, Garth Brooks, Waylon Jennings and Martina McBride. In addition, Davis has released five studio albums: a self-titled debut on Asylum Records in 1993, followed by four self-released albums. Her self-titled debut produced a chart single in "It's All in the Heart". Biography Stephanie Davis was born and raised in Bridger, Montana. Joey Marie Feek ( née Martin, September 9, 1975 – March 4, 2016) was an American country music singer and songwriter. From 2008 to 2016, the duo Joey + Rory comprised her and her husband, Rory Feek. Life and musical career Joey Marie Feek was born Joey Marie Martin on September 9, 1975, in Alexandria, Indiana, to Jack and June Martin. She was the fourth of five children: three sisters (Jody, Julie, Jessie) and one younger brother, Justin, who in 1994 died in a car accident very close to the Martin family farm. Frank Mandeville Rogers V (born in Florence, South Carolina, United States) is an American record producer, songwriter, music publisher and session musician. In 1990, Rogers moved to Nashville, attending Belmont University and graduating with a Music Business degree. While at Belmont, he met friend and future collaborator Brad Paisley.
