''A Family Affair'' is a 1937 American comedy film. It was the first of 16 movies now known as the Andy Hardy series, though Andy Hardy, played by Mickey Rooney, did not become the main character in the series until a few more installments had been made. The movie features Lionel Barrymore as Judge Hardy and Spring Byington as his wife, who are Andy's parents. Barrymore and Byington were replaced in their roles by Lewis Stone and Fay Holden in the subsequent films. In this film, the highly respected judge has to deal with family and political problems. It was based on the 1928 play ''Skidding'' by Aurania Rouverol. Plot summary Judge James K. Hardy (Lionel Barrymore) hopes to be re-elected, but his campaign is put in jeopardy by his opposition to a wasteful public works program. A Family Affair (Mikael Bolyos Album)
''A Family Affair'' is the debut studio album by Swedish singer-songwriter Mikael Bolyos. The album was issued on CD on 14 June 2007 by EMI, in conjunction with Bolyos' own independent record label Mikael Bolyos Music. It features the vocals of Bolyos' wife Marie Fredriksson (part of the duo Roxette), and Mats Ronander. The record received mixed reviews upon release, and failed to appear on the Swedish Albums Chart. "When the Lord Is About to Come" and "Me & My Guitar" were released as singles. Critical reception Håkan Persson of ''Borås Tidning'' said: "Mikael Bolyos has more or less chosen to stand in the shadow of his better half, Marie Fredriksson. He makes sixties-coloured drudgery and throw-away-pop, and his wife – who sings lead and choir – tries to take up as little space as possible. Quite frankly, there's nothing else to say bout the album" A writer for ''Expressen'' commented on the album leaking several months before its release date: "The record company in cr ...

A Family Affair (Christian McBride Album)
''A Family Affair'' is an album by Christian McBride. It was recorded in California and released in 1998 by Verve. Reception Bill Milkowski of ''JazzTimes'' noted "On his third album as a leader, bassist Christian McBride reveals more shades of his musical makeup than he's allowed to slip through in the past. Along with his renowned upright chops-typically solid and swinging in the great tradition of Ray Brown-the Philly phenom also reveals himself to be a Bootsy-influenced funkster, Jamerson-inspired groovemeister, and Jacoesque fretless electric soloist. All this, plus his first stab at lyric writing, makes A Family Affair McBride's most diverse and widely appealing project to date." Jim Santella of ''All About Jazz'' said "The toe-tapping music swings deliciously and is presented in a variety of different formats." Dan MacIntosh of ''Jelly Roll'' wrote "This album may not be the best forum for Christian McBride's music, but it's always fun to get a peek at a musician's influenc ...

Family Affair (MC Hammer Album)
Stanley Kirk Burrell (born March 30, 1962), better known by his stage name MC Hammer (or simply Hammer), is an American rapper, dancer, record producer and entrepreneur. He is known for hit songs such as "U Can't Touch This", "2 Legit 2 Quit" and "Pumps and a Bump", flashy dance movements, extravagant choreography and his eponymous Hammer pants. Remembered for a rapid rise to fame, Hammer has also been an entrepreneur and celebrity spokesperson. A multi-award winner, Hammer is considered a "forefather" and pioneering innovator of pop rap (incorporating elements of freestyle music), and is the first hip hop artist to achieve diamond status for an album. After being labeled a sellout, and with the changing landscape of hip hop music, Hammer attempted to appeal to the rise of gangsta rap. However, due to overexposure and critical backlash, his popularity waned by the mid-1990s (which led to a highly publicized bankruptcy beginning in 1996). Along with a Mattel doll and oth ...
