A Different Beat (Gary Moore Album)
''A Different Beat'' is the twelfth solo studio album by Irish people, Irish guitarist Gary Moore, released by Castle Music in September 1999. Produced by Moore with Ian Taylor, the album saw Moore continue to jettison his familiar blues and hard rock stylings work for a more experimental pop approach, following ''Dark Days in Paradise'' (1997). The musician was inspired by modern electronic dance music, dance music and sought to create an album that fused dance rhythms with guitar work, and collaborated with musicians Roger King and the E-Z Rollers to help him achieve this. The album is characterised by its usage of keyboards, loop (music), loops, sampling (music), samples, programmed dance beats and experiments in drum and bass, though also incorporates Moore's bluesy guitar solos. Gary Moore
Robert William Gary Moore (4 April 19526 February 2011) was a Northern Irish musician. Over the course of his career he played in various groups and performed a range of music including blues, blues rock, hard rock, heavy metal, and jazz fusion. Influenced by Peter Green and Eric Clapton, Moore began his career in the late 1960s when he joined Skid Row, with whom he released two albums. After Moore left the group he joined Thin Lizzy, featuring his former Skid Row bandmate and frequent collaborator Phil Lynott. Moore began his solo career in the 1970s and achieved major success with 1978's "Parisienne Walkways", which is considered his signature song. During the 1980s, Moore transitioned into playing hard rock and heavy metal with varying degrees of international success. Britpop
Britpop was a mid-1990s British-based music culture movement that emphasised Britishness. It produced brighter, catchier alternative rock, partly in reaction to the popularity of the darker lyrical themes of the US-led grunge music and to the UK's own shoegaze music scene. The movement brought British alternative rock into the mainstream and formed the backbone of a larger British popular cultural movement, Cool Britannia, which evoked the Swinging Sixties and the British guitar pop of that decade. ''Blues for Greeny'' is the tenth solo studio by Irish guitarist and singer Gary Moore, released in 1995. It is a tribute to Peter Green (musician), Peter Green, guitarist and founder member of the band Fleetwood Mac. The album was recorded using the same 1959 Gibson Les Paul#Standard, Les Paul Standard used to record the original tracks. Green loaned and then sold the guitar to Moore after leaving Fleetwood Mac. ''Still Got the Blues'' is the eighth solo studio album by Northern Irish guitarist Gary Moore, released in March 1990. It marked a substantial change in style for Moore, who had been predominantly known for rock and hard rock music with Skid Row, Thin Lizzy, G-Force, Greg Lake and during his own extensive solo career, as well as his jazz-fusion work with Colosseum II. As indicated by its title, ''Still Got the Blues'' saw him delve into an electric blues style. The album features guest contributions from Albert King, Albert Collins and George Harrison. The title track was released as a single and reached No. 97 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 on 16 February 1991. It is the only single of Moore's to chart on the Billboard Hot 100. "Fire" is a song written by Jimi Hendrix and recorded by the Jimi Hendrix Experience in early 1967. Norman Quentin Cook (born Quentin Leo Cook, 31 July 1963), also known by his stage name Fatboy Slim, is an English musician, DJ, and record producer who helped to popularise the big beat genre in the 1990s. Apollo 440 (also known as Apollo Four Forty or @440) are a British electronic music group formed in Liverpool in 1990. The group has written, recorded, and produced five studio albums, collaborated with and produced other artists, remixed as Apollo 440 and as ambient cinematic alter-ego Stealth Sonic Orchestra, and created music for film, television, advertisements and multimedia.
