The Temperance Movement (band)
The Temperance Movement are a British blues rock band formed in 2011 by Glasgow-born vocalist Phil Campbell (formally of the rock band White Buffalo) and guitarists Luke Potashnick and Paul Sayer. The rhythm section consists of bassist Nick Fyffe and the Australian-born drummer Damon Wilson. The band released their ''Pride EP'' in 2012, and their eponymous debut studio album was released on 16 September 2013. Collectively the band have a rich history of experience, having previously played with Rooster, Ben's Brother, Jamiroquai, Ray Davies, The Waterboys and Feeder. Blues rock is a fusion music genre that combines elements of blues and rock music. Hard Rock
Hard rock or heavy rock is a loosely defined subgenre of rock music typified by aggressive vocals and distorted electric guitars. Hard rock began in the mid-1960s with the garage, psychedelic and blues rock movements. Some of the earliest hard rock music was produced by the Kinks, the Who, The Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Cream, Vanilla Fudge, and the Jimi Hendrix Experience. Earache Records
Earache Records is a British independent record label, music publisher and management company founded by Digby Pearson in 1985, based in Nottingham, England, with offices in London and New York. The label helped to pioneer extreme metal by releasing early grindcore and death metal records between the late 1980s and mid-1990s. Its roster has since diversified into more mainstream guitar music, working with bands such as Rival Sons, the Temperance Movement, Blackberry Smoke, Scarlet Rebels and the White Buffalo. The company also hosted the 'Earache Express' stage at Glastonbury Festival in 2017 and 'The Earache Factory' at Boomtown 2018. ''Covers & Rarities'' is a compilation album by the British rock band the Temperance Movement. It contains five covers recorded by the group and six bonus tracks from their first two albums. Background Recording The album was announced and released following an almost two year long hiatus by the Temperance Movement, brought about after their original frontman and songwriter Phil Campbell announced he was leaving the group. The album features no new recordings, except for "You Fool No One". Tracks 6 to 11 were recorded during sessions for the group's first two albums between 2013 and 2015, and were included as bonus tracks on various different formats. "Up in the Sky" and "Tender" were recorded in 2014 at Abbey Road studios and were released on Record Store Day of that year. "Houses of the Holy" was recorded in 2015 for ''Mojo'' magazine's ''Physical Graffiti'' tribute album. Nick Fyffe
Nick Fyffe (born 14 October 1972) is an English bassist, known for being an ex-bassist of English funk group Jamiroquai. He replaced Stuart Zender in 1999 with the release of the album ''Synkronized''. He was in the process of applying to a Jamiroquai tribute band when he got the offer to join Jamiroquai. Fyffe recorded and toured with the band until his departure in 2003. Since his departure from Jamiroquai, Fyffe has been lecturing at various colleges and playing with the English electronic group The Shapeshifters as well as blues rock band The Temperance Movement, whose self-titled first album was released on 16 September 2013. Subsequent albums with The Temperance Movement include ''White Bear'' (2016) and '' A Deeper Cut'' (2018).
