Virginia High School League
The Virginia High School League (VHSL) is the principal sanctioning organization for interscholastic athletic competition among public high schools in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The VHSL first sponsored debate and also continues to sponsor state championships in several academic activities. Private and religious schools and teams of homeschooled students belong to other sanctioning organizations, the largest of which is the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association. Proposals in the Virginia General Assembly to mandate that the VHSL allow homeschooled students to compete for the public high school they would otherwise attend have failed to pass. Clarke County High School (Berryville, Virginia)
Clarke County High School is a public high school in Berryville, Virginia. CCHS was ranked 19th on Newsweek's Top 1200 High Schools list in 2006. This used a metric based on the amount of Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate tests taken by all the students in 2005 divided by the amount of graduating seniors. Its courses cover a wide spectrum of advanced levels including the International Baccalaureate program; dual-enrollment courses with Laurel Ridge Community College and AP courses. Additionally, vocational and technical training courses have been expanded: in addition to Future Farmers of America (FFA) and DECA courses, students may choose from a variety of career and trade fields - including nursing, basic construction, CAD and computer courses, and horticulture. Mountain View High School (Shenandoah County, Virginia)
Mountain View High School is a public high school located in Quicksburg, Shenandoah County, Virginia, United States. It is home to almost 625 students, in grades 8-12. The school is part of the Shenandoah County Public School System. Mike Dorman is the current principal. On July 9, 2020, the Shenandoah County School Board voted to rename the school, which was previously called Stonewall Jackson High School. The school's colors are red, black, and white, and the school mascot is "the Generals." History Mountain View High School was dedicated on April 24, 1960, according to school board minutes. Luray High School
Luray High School is a public secondary school located in Luray, Virginia, United States. Luray High School is home to approximately 500 students, ranging from grades 9-12. Before construction of the new Luray High School building, it was one of the few 5-year high schools in the nation. The school is part of the Page County Public School System. The school's colors are maroon, black, and white, and the mascot is the bulldog. The fight song is ''Maroon and White''. Page County High School
Page County High School is a public secondary school located in Shenandoah, Virginia. The dedication of the original building in 1961 brought together students from the former Shenandoah and Stanley high schools. It holds grade levels 9-12 (freshmen through seniors) and has an enrollment of approximately 550 students. The feeder school is Page County Middle School, which is in turn fed by Shenandoah Elementary and Stanley Elementary schools, and formerly Grove Hill Elementary School. Page County High School has an auditorium with a capacity of approximately 700 people, a gym with retractable bleachers on two sides, a full library, a cafeteria that feeds students in two 25 minute blocks each day, and three computer labs. Strasburg is a town in Shenandoah County, Virginia, United States, which was founded in 1761 by Peter Stover. It is the largest town by population in the county and is known for its grassroots art culture, pottery, antiques, and American Civil War history. The population was 6,398 at the 2010 census.
