A Brand New Day (album)
''A Brand New Day'' is the tenth overall album of gospel singer Vanessa Bell Armstrong, and first for Tommy Boy Gospel, a then-recently started imprint of the Tommy Boy Records label. Though relegated to traditional gospel production on her last two releases for Jive/Verity, ''New Day'' sees Armstrong return to the urban contemporary R&B sound that marked her mainstream gospel hits such as "You Bring Out The Best In Me" and "Pressing On." "Jesus I'll Never Forget" was released to radio as the initial single from the set. The album also provided an opportunity for Armstrong to duet with her daughter Melody on "No Failure." Melody Armstrong previously made a recorded appearance on "Anybody Here" from Deitrick Haddon's ''Supernatural'' album with resident choir Voices Of Unity. Vanessa Bell Armstrong
Vanessa Bell Armstrong ( Bell; born October 2, 1953) is an American gospel singer who released her debut album '' Peace Be Still'' in 1983. Armstrong is an 7x Grammy Award Nominee, Stellar Award Winner, and a Soul Train Award winner. She has worked with many in the industry such as, Mattie Moss Clark, Darryl Coley, The Clark Sisters, Rance Allen, James Cleveland, and a host of others. The Detroit Native also has an honorary doctorate degree in theology from Next Dimension University at the West Angeles Cathedral in Los Angeles on Saturday, August 20, 2017. Career Armstrong made her solo debut on Onyx/Muscle Shoals Sound Records in 1983 with the album ''Peace Be Still''. The title track has since become one of Armstrong's signature songs. Gospel music is a traditional genre of Christian music, and a cornerstone of Christian media. Deitrick Vaughn Haddon (born May 17, 1973) is an American gospel singer, songwriter, pianist, arranger, record producer, pastor, and actor. He is best known for progressive gospel, and contemporary styles of music. He is also one of the cast members in Oxygen's reality television show '' Preachers of L.A.'' Early years Haddon launched his solo career as a Christian R&B vocalist with the ''Lost & Found'' on Tyscot/Verity in 2002. The set peaked at No. 1 on Billboard's Top Gospel Charts and received wide critical acclaim and spawned the hit "Sinner's Prayer" which was played extensively on gospel and mainstream R&B radio stations. ''Walking Miracle'' is the eleventh overall album by gospel singer Vanessa Bell Armstrong, and her first for EMI Gospel. Leading up to its release, ''Miracle'' was heavily touted as a comeback effort citing Armstrong's recent family and health challenges that forced her to take a 6-year hiatus from recording. During the recent years since leaving her recording contract with Jive/Verity, her marriage dissolved and she suffered a stroke.
