A Band Called Quinn
A Band Called Quinn are an electronic indie rock band from Glasgow, Scotland. Founding members Bal Cooke (drummer/producer) and Louise Quinn (singer/ songwriter) met whilst working for a performance art company in Glasgow. Other long term members are Robert Henderson (keyboards/ trumpet) and Steven Westwater (bass). Previous line ups included Alex Kapranos (Franz Ferdinand). A Band Called Quinn's track DIY opened the sixth episode of Season 1 of The Royals (TV series) on E!. The series was created by Mark Schwahn and stars Elizabeth Hurley and Joan Collins. In 2012, with investment from Creative Scotland, A Band Called Quinn devised the critically acclaimed multimedia show ''Biding Time (remix)'' with theatre director Ben Harrison, Co-Artistic Director of Scottish theatre company Grid Iron. Ian Rankin
Sir Ian James Rankin (born 28 April 1960) is a Scottish crime writer, best known for his Inspector Rebus novels. Early life Rankin was born in Cardenden, Fife. His father, James, owned a grocery shop, and his mother, Isobel, worked in a school canteen. He was educated at Beath High School, Cowdenbeath. His parents were horrified when he then chose to study literature at university, as they had expected him to study for a trade. Encouraged by his English teacher, he persisted and graduated in 1982 from the University of Edinburgh, where he also worked on a doctorate on Muriel Spark but did not complete it. BBC One

Christopher Eccleston

Stephen Fry
Stephen John Fry (born 24 August 1957) is an English actor, broadcaster, comedian, director and writer. BBC Three
BBC Three is a British free-to-air public broadcast television channel owned and operated by the BBC. It was first launched on 9 February 2003 with programmes targeting 16 to 34-year-olds, covering all genres including animation, comedy, current affairs, and drama series. ''Lip Service'' is a British television serial drama portraying the lives of a group of lesbian women living in Glasgow, Scotland. David Mackenzie (born 10 May 1966) is a Scottish film director and co-founder of the Glasgow-based production company Sigma Films. Penny Woolcock
Penny Woolcock (born 1 January 1950) is an Argentine filmmaker, opera director, and screenwriter. Early life Penny Woolcock was born in Argentina and raised in Montevideo and Buenos Aires. In 1967, she founded a radical theatre group and was briefly arrested. Her parents wanted to send her to Europe for safety; instead she fled to Spain with a man from the theatre group and had a baby in Barcelona. In 1970 she moved to England as a single mother. She did factory work and other jobs. In her thirties she enrolled in a filmmakers' workshop, borrowed some film-making equipment and sold the resulting feature to the BBC.
