Ice Cross Downhill
Ice cross downhill, (formerly known as Red Bull Crashed Ice, is a winter extreme sporting event which involves direct competitive downhill skating on a walled track featuring sharp turns and high vertical drops. Ice cross downhill is similar to ski cross and boardercross, except with ice skates on an ice track, instead of using skis or snowboards on a snow track. Ice cross is sanctioned by the All Terrain Skate Cross Federation (ATSX). Course configurations and equipment Courses Contestants race down the course's turns, berms, and jumps. After racing one after another in the time trials, typically there are four racers starting each race. Equipment Racers wear helmets, ice hockey equipment, bandy equipment, ringette equipment, or in some cases equipment from other sports. Ice hockey skates and bandy skates are used. Jacqueline Legere
Jacqueline Legere (born 1991) is a Canadian stuntwoman and icecross downhill athlete currently competing in Red Bull Crashed Ice. During the 2016 season, Legere finished atop the Crashed Ice standings, emerging as the women’s world champion. When not competing in ice cross downhill, Legere is employed as a stuntwoman. Athletic career Ice hockey During her teens, Legere competed in Ontario's Provincial Women's Hockey League with the Hamilton Hawks from 2009-11. She also competed in the Lower Lakes Female Hockey League with the Cambridge Roadrunners and won a high school hockey championship in Brant County. Ice cross downhill Red Bull Crashed Ice Legere qualified for the Red Bull Crashed Ice race in Quebec City in 2011, making her debut at the event. Crashed Ice (full official name: ''Red Bull Crashed Ice'') is a world tour in the winter extreme sporting event, '' ice cross downhill'' (or downhill ice cross), which involves downhill skating in an urban environment, on a track which includes steep turns and high vertical drops. Racers speed down the course's turns, berms, and jumps. Competitors, having advanced from one of the tryouts in the prior months, race in heats of four skaters, with the top two advancing from each heat. Kyle Croxall
Kyle Croxall (born October 26, 1988) is a Canadian Red Bull Crashed Ice (also known as ice cross downhill) racer. In January 2014, he was ranked fourth in the world in the sport. Croxall is a former ice hockey player who played one season with the Mississauga Chargers of the Ontario Junior A Hockey League. Crashed ice career Croxall's ice cross downhill career began while he was going to school for firefighting in Ottawa, Ontario. In 2007, tryouts were being held there. Croxall said, "I had previously seen the sport on TV and wanted to join." Croxall tried out for Crashed Ice and went on to his first race in Quebec City in 2008. Croxall now competes on the Red Bull Crashed Ice tour for the team known as "Living The Dream". Amanda Trunzo
Amanda Trunzo (born August 30, 1989) is a former women's ice hockey player from Minnesota. In the NCAA, she competed for the Dartmouth Big Green and was also named to the USA U-22 National team in 2010. She competes in Red Bull Crashed Ice and was the first American to become the World Champion in 2017–18. She won the World Championship again in 2018-19. Athletic career Ice hockey In Minnesota, Trunzo played hockey for two different schools. She spent three years at Andover High School and was the captain in every season. Trunzo transferred to Benilde-St. Margaret's and was a two-year member of their women's hockey team. Anaïs Morand (born 10 March 1993) is a Swiss pair skater and Red Bull Crashed Ice competitor in the sport of ice cross downhill. Competing in pairs with Antoine Dorsaz, she skated at seven ISU Figure Skating Championships, ISU Championships, achieving their best result (8th) at the 2010 European Figure Skating Championships, 2010 Europeans, and at the Figure skating at the 2010 Winter Olympics, 2010 Winter Olympics (15th).
