ATM Syed Hossain
ATM Syed Hossain is a former additional secretary of Bangladesh Government and former member of the Executive Council of Bangladesh Krishak Sramik Awami League, the one-party government of Awami League. He was married to the sister of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the first president of Bangladesh. Early life Hossain was born in Faridpur District and his father was Nadir Hossain. Career Hossain was a gazetted officer in the East Pakistan Civil Service. Before the independence of Bangladesh, he had the rank of a section officer in the Establishment Division. After the Independence of Bangladesh his career received a boost from his brother-in-law, the new president Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. He was promoted to the rank of Joint Secretary in 1972. Bangladesh Krishak Sramik Awami League (BaKSAL) ( bn, বাংলাদেশ কৃষক শ্রমিক আওয়ামী লীগ "Bangladesh Worker-Peasant's People's League"; বাকশাল) was a political front comprising Bangladesh Awami League, Communist Party of Bangladesh, National Awami Party (Muzaffar) and Jatiyo League. Following the Fourth Amendment to the Constitution of Bangladesh, enacted on 25 January 1975, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman formed BaKSAL on 24 February. In addition, with the presidential order, all other political parties were outlawed with the formation of BaKSAL. The party advocated state socialism as a part of the group of reforms under the theory of the Second Revolution. Faridpur District
Faridpur District ( bn, ফরিদপুর জেলা) is a district in south-central Bangladesh. It is a part of the Dhaka Division. It is bounded by the Padma River to its northeast. The district was named after Farīd-ud-Dīn Masʿūd, a 13th century Sufi saint. A separate district was created by severing Dhaka district in 1786 and was called Dacca Jelalpur.
