''ATL'' is a 2006 American coming-of-age comedy-drama film, and the feature film directorial debut of music video director Chris Robinson. The screenplay was written by Tina Gordon Chism from an original story by Antwone Fisher, and is loosely based on the experiences of the film's producers Dallas Austin and Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins growing up in Atlanta, Georgia (ATL). Retrieved on 2008-10-12. The film is a coming-of-age tale concerning Rashad, played by Atlanta native and hip hop artist T.I. (credited as Tip Harris) in his film debut, and his friends in their final year in high school and on the verge of adulthood. The film also stars Antwan Andre Patton, aka Big Boi of the hip hop group OutKast, Evan Ross, Jackie Long, Lauren London, and Mykelti Williamson. Chris Robinson (born September 28, 1967 in Edgewood, Maryland) is an American film director, commercial director, and music video director. He has directed films such as Netflix original '' Beats'' (2019). He has directed commercials for brands such as iPod, Coca-Cola and Verizon and music videos for songs like " Fallin'" and "You Don't Know My Name" by Alicia Keys, "Roc Boys" by Jay-Z, the Grammy nominated video for "One Mic" by Nas, and "Bonnie & Clyde '03" by Jay-Z featuring Beyoncé Knowles. Robinson made his debut as a music video director by helming the 1991 clip "Doo Doo Brown" by the group 2 Hyped Brothers & a Dog. He is also known for the creation of the concept "Boost Mobile" ad campaigns featuring rap superstars such as Kanye West, Ludacris, The Game, Eve, and others. Overbrook Entertainment is an American production company based in Culver City, California. It was founded by partners Will Smith and James Lassiter in 1998, around the same time production for ''Wild Wild West'' (1999) was started. The name "Overbrook" is derived from Will Smith's neighborhood in West Philadelphia. The company produces music, films and television shows.
