ARP 2500
The ARP 2500 is a monophonic (synthesizers), monophonic analog modular synthesizer equipped with a set of sliding matrix switches above each module. These are the primary method of interconnecting modules. It is the first product of ARP Instruments, Inc., built from 1970 to 1981. Features There are rows of 1/8" ''TRS connector, miniphone'' jacks at the end of each row of matrix switches, to interconnect rows of switches. The main 2500 cabinet can hold 15 modules, and optional wing cabinets can each hold 8. The matrix switch interconnection scheme allow any module's output to connect to any other module's input. This is unlike the patch cords of competitive units from Moog synthesizer, Moog and Buchla which can obscure control knobs and associated markings, but it has the disadvantage of greater cross-talk. Anthony Edward Visconti (born April 24, 1944) is an American record producer, musician and singer. Since the late 1960s, he has worked with an array of performers. His first hit single was T. Rex's " Ride a White Swan" in 1970, the first of many hits in collaboration with Marc Bolan. Faust (band)
Faust (English: "fist") are a German rock band from Hamburg. Vincent John Martin (born 3 July 1960), known professionally as Vince Clarke, is an English synth-pop musician and songwriter. Clarke has been the main composer and musician of the band Erasure since its inception in 1985, and was previously the main songwriter of several groups, including Depeche Mode, Yazoo (band), Yazoo, and the Assembly. Phil Dodds
Philip Van Horn Weems Dodds (May 17, 1951 – October 6, 2007), credited as Phil Dodds and Philip Dodds, was an audio engineer who appeared in the 1977 motion picture ''Close Encounters of the Third Kind''. As ARP Instruments, Inc.'s Vice President of Engineering, Dodds was on the set to install and manage the ARP 2500 synthesizer used in the movie to play the five alien tones, and to program it for the sounds the filmmakers wanted. He had performed a similar function on other science fiction films, such as ''Logan's Run'', and some of the early ''Star Trek'' movies.
