Andhra Pradesh Power Generation Corporation Limited is power generating organization in Andhra Pradesh. It undertakes operation and maintenance of the power plants and also setting up new power projects alongside upgrading the project's capacity. Power sector of Andhra Pradesh is divided into 4 categories namely ''Regulation'', ''Generation'', ''Transmission'' and ''Distribution''. Sri Damodaram Sanjeevaiah Thermal Power Station
Sri Damodaram Sanjeevaiah Thermal Power Station is located in Nelatur Village, near Krishnapatnam and at a distance of 23 km from Nellore city of Andhra Pradesh. The power plant is one of the coal-based power plants of ''Andhra Pradesh Power Development Company Limited (APPDCL).'' It is the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), a joint venture company of APGENCO (with 50% equity) and IL AND FS (50% equity) partnership. The proposed capacity of plant is 1600 MW. The project is under construction and likely to be completed by the end of 2014. The Power station is designed for blended coal in the ratio of 70% washed domestic coal from Talcher Coalfield to 30% imported coal. Sea water is proposed for cooling purpose and potable water by desalination. The Srisailam Dam is constructed across the Krishna River in Nagarkurnool district , Telangana and Nandyal district, Andhra Pradesh near Srisailam temple town and is the 2nd largest capacity working hydroelectric station in India. Polavaram Project
The ''Polavaram Project'' is an under construction multi-purpose irrigation project on the Godavari River in the Eluru District and East Godavari District in Andhra Pradesh. The project has been accorded National Project of India, National project status by the Government of India, Central Government of India. Jalaput Dam
The Jalaput Dam is a hydroelectric dam built on the Machkund River, a tributary of the Godavari River in India which rises in the Mudugal hills of Alluri Sitharama Raju district District and nearby Ondra Gadda it becomes the boundary between Andhra Pradesh and Odisha. This Dam is the most ignored one in India, currently, it is in dilapidated condition. For over 48 km the river runs nearly north along a meandering course through the Padwa Valley. Nagarjuna Sagar Tail Pond
Nagarjuna Sagar tail pond is a multipurpose reservoir located 21 km downstream from the Nagarjuna Sagar Dam across the Krishna River near Satrasala in Nalgonda district, India. Its gross water storage capacity is 6 Tmcft. The reservoir water spread area extends up to the toe of the Nagarjuna Sagar dam. The project was completed by July 2014. PABR Dam
Penna Ahobilam Balancing Reservoir (PABR) is an irrigation project located across Penna River in Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh state in India. Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, Anantapur city gets its drinking water from the PABR. The reservoir with live storage capacity of 305 million cubic metres is mainly fed by Tungabhadra high level canal originating from the Tungabhadra Dam to the extent of 10 Tmcft water. A 20 MW hydro electric power station is also constructed at the dam site. After the death of eminent irrigation engineer K.
