ANB Futbol Academy
ANB Futbol was a Canadian semi-professional soccer club based in King, Ontario. The club was founded in 2007, as a soccer academy, and added its semi-professional club in League1 Ontario in 2014. The club was one of the ten original founding men's teams in League1 Ontario, which was established in 2014, as well as one of eight original founding women’s teams in the women's division, which was established in 2015. Both teams withdrew from the league following the 2015 season. The club continues to remain active as a youth soccer academy. History In 2007, ANB Futbol was launched as the academy division of parent company ANB Soccer Inc. by founder Bassam Naim. League1 Ontario
League1 Ontario (L1O) is a semi-professional men's soccer league in Ontario, Canada. The league began play in 2014 and is sanctioned by the Canadian Soccer Association and the Ontario Soccer Association as a pro-am league in the Canadian soccer league system. As of the 2022 season, L1O includes 22 teams. Beginning in 2024, the league will become a three-tier league featuring promotion and relegation. In the Canadian soccer league system, the men's division is behind the Canadian Premier League (CPL). Vaughan () (2021 population 323,103) is a city in Ontario, Canada. It is located in the Regional Municipality of York, just north of Toronto. Adonijah Reid
Adonijah Reid (born August 13, 1999) is a Canadian soccer player who currently plays for Pacific FC in the Canadian Premier League. Early life Reid began playing youth soccer with Caledon SC, in 2005. Afterwards, he joined ANB Futbol Academy, where he played for six years. In 2014 and 2015, he had trials with French clubs OGC Nice and Lyon, and also had trials with clubs in Italy and Spain. However, as he was not a European citizen, he was unable to remain in Europe. Club career In 2015, at age 16, he played with ANB Futbol in League1 Ontario. He finished as the league's joint highest goalscorer as a 16 year old with 20 goals in 20 appearances earning joint Golden Boot honours. Raheem Nathaniel Anfernee Edwards (born July 17, 1995) is a Canadian professional soccer player who plays as a left winger or wing-back for LA Galaxy in Major League Soccer. Oladapo Joshua Afolayan (born 11 September 1997) is an English professional footballer who plays as a winger or centre-forward for 2. Bundesliga club FC St. Pauli. 2014 League1 Ontario Season
The 2014 League1 Ontario season was the inaugural season of the Division 3 Ontario-based semi-professional Association football, soccer league. It began on May 30, featuring 10 teams. The league's first ever goal was scored by Toronto FC Academy player Dylan Sacramento. Teams Being the first year of the league, all teams are new to the league. On July 22, 2014, the league terminated the license of Internacional de Toronto. Their record will be expunged. Format Unlike most North American sports leagues, there will be no playoffs. 1812 FC Barrie
1812 FC Barrie (also known as 1812 FC) was a Canadian semi-professional soccer club that played in League1 Ontario in 2021. In their sole season of operation, the club played home matches at Terry Fox Stadium in Brampton, Ontario. The team was originally set to play at Georgian College in Barrie, but the venue was closed to outside groups in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2015 Women's League1 Ontario season was the first season of play for the Women's Division of League1 Ontario. Originally announced with six teams, a seventh (Woodbridge Strikers) was added before the start of the season. A league cup consisted of two groups of either three or four teams, with the top two from each group advancing to the knockout round. The Soccer Centre, also known as the Ontario Soccer Centre, is a Canadian competition, training, education, and exposition soccer facility. It is located in Vaughan, Ontario, 20 km north-west of downtown Toronto. Details The centre features a field house that can accommodate three indoor soccer fields or one full size 11-a-side game. 2015 League1 Ontario Season
The 2015 Men's League1 Ontario season was the second season of play for League1 Ontario, a Division 3 semi-professional soccer league in the Canadian soccer pyramid and the highest level of soccer based in the Canadian province of Ontario. This season saw the return of all nine teams which completed the previous season, as well as the addition of three new teams for the Men's Division. The 2015 season also marked the birth of League1 Ontario's Women's Division, which began play with seven teams.
