AK Hellas
AK Hellas (the initials standing for the full name of the company, 'Aggelopoulos-Karkanis O.E.') was a Greek manufacturer of light trucks and other metal products. It designed and produced two basic types of vehicles - all three-wheelers with 50cc engines, taking advantage of a favorable classification as "motorbikes" according to Greek law. One group of models it produced since 1965 were light trucks with "motorcycle" structure (steering and controls), a type of vehicle also produced in Greece by ''MEBEA'' (by far the most successful), '' Mego'', '' Alta'', '' Saracakis'', ''Pitsos'' (a big home appliances manufacturer), ''Markal'', ''Naxos'' and others. MEBEA was an important Greece, Greek vehicle manufacturer, producer of light trucks, passenger automobiles, motorcycles, motorbike engines, agricultural machinery and bicycles. Activities MEBEA was founded in Athens in 1960 by the merger of two companies assembling (progressively manufacturing) motorbikes since 1954, and its initials stand for Μεσογειακαί Επιχειρήσεις Βιομηχανίας, Εμπορίου και Αντιπροσωπειών (Messogiakai Epiheiriseis Biomihanias, Emporiou kai Antiprosopeion - Mediterranean Enterprises for Industry, Commerce and Dealerships). Mego (motorbikes)
Mego (ΜΕΓΚΟ) was a Greek light vehicle manufacturer, based in Trikala. Its first products, launched in 1947, were utility tricycles. In 1951, it began manufacturing motorized utility tricycles with 50–100cc engines and an unconventional design in which the solo wheel was located at the rear. About The company's first products were branded ''Nigo'', a named derived from that of its founder, Nikos Gorgolis. In 1962, it was partly sold to MEBEA and was renamed ''Mego'' (from MEBEA and Gorgolis); the change in ownership was accompanied by the introduction of conventional light three-wheel trucks. In 1967, the Gorgolis family regained total ownership of the company but retained the Mego name. Mego subsequently designed and built a large number of 50cc moped and motorcycle types and light 50cc three-wheel trucks, using mainly Sachs engines, as well as bicycles. Alta (vehicles)
Alta was a Greek manufacturer of light and heavier three-wheeler trucks, motorcycles and passenger cars. Production of motorcycles and three-wheeler trucks with Sachs 50cc engines started in its first factory in Athens in 1962. The ''50S'' motorcycle model was known for its reliability (some survive to date in good working condition). In 1967 it designed and developed model ''A700'', a heavier three-wheel truck with 2-cylinder BMW 35 hp engine and a payload of 800 kg. The truck, featuring a pleasant design and high reliability became one of the most successful vehicles of its kind in Greece. In 1968 Alta introduced a three-wheel passenger car, model '' A200'' (three wheelers were classified differently according to Greek law). Pitsos A.E. (Πίτσος) was founded in Athens in 1865 and began as a company manufacturing small household appliances and oil heaters. In 1959 it began production of fridges in a new factory; it soon invested heavily on the development and production of a wide range of modern home appliances, including TV sets. Other metal structures, including 3-wheel pickup trucks were also produced. In 1976 it was bought by Bosch-Siemens Hausgeräte GmbH. In 1996 was rebranded to "BSP A.B.E. Ikiakon Syskeyon". Attica (automobiles)
Attica was a brand name of vehicles produced by ''Bioplastic S.A.'', a company (originally involved in fiberglass panel manufacture, later expanding into fiberglass boat manufacture) created in Moschato, Athens by Georgios Dimitriadis, a figure in Greek automotive history. Mr. Dimitriadis had designed and built a light four-wheel passenger automobile ( model ''505'') in 1958 with the intent to produce it. A tax imposed on four-wheel automobiles at the time, though, limited the car's market prospects; thus, he abandoned that plan, focusing instead on the production of three-wheelers - taxed as "motorcycles" in Greece. The BLV Verlag is a howto book publisher in Germany. The program includes over 600 titles, to which about 120 new books published annually.
