Asian Highway 11 (AH11) is a road in the Asian Highway Network running 1567 km from Vientiane, Laos to Sihanoukville, Cambodia connecting AH12 to AH1 and continuing to Gulf of Thailand. This international highway connects capitals of Laos and Cambodia. Asian Highway Network
The Asian Highway Network (AH), also known as the Great Asian Highway, is a cooperative project among countries in Asia and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) to improve their connectivity via highway systems. It is one of the three pillars of the Asian Land Transport Infrastructure Development (ALTID) project, endorsed by the ESCAP commission at its 48th session in 1992, comprising Asian Highway, Trans-Asian Railway (TAR) and facilitation of land transport projects. Agreements have been signed by 32 countries to allow the highway to cross the continent and also reach to Europe. Some of the countries taking part in the highway project are India ( Look-East connectivity projects), Sri Lanka, Pakistan, China, Iran, Japan, South Korea, Nepal and Bangladesh. Kizuna Bridge
The Kizuna Bridge; is a bridge on the Mekong River The Mekong or Mekong River is a trans-boundary river in East Asia and Southeast Asia. At 1500 metres it was the longest bridge in Cambodia until the 2002 construction of the Koh Kong Bridge, a 1900-metre Thai-Cambodian bridge in Koh Kong. The Kizuna bridge links eastern and western Cambodia by road for the first time. Construction of the bridge began in 1999 and took three years to complete. The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) is one of the five regional commissions under the jurisdiction of the United Nations Economic and Social Council. It was established in order to increase economic activity in Asia and the Far East, as well as to foster economic relations between the region and other areas of the world. The commission is composed of 53 Member States and nine Associate members, mostly from the Asia and Pacific regions. National Highway 4 (Cambodia)
National Highway 4 or National Road No.4 (10004) (in Khmer ផ្លូវជាតិលេខ ៤) is one of the national highways of Cambodia. With a length of ,Discovering Sihanoukville Municipality, p. 665, in "Cambodia in the Early 21st Century", Phnom Penh, 2004, it connects the capital of Phnom Penh with Sihanoukville in the south-west. Sihanoukville is the only international sea port of Cambodia, making NH4 one of the country's most important highways. The road was built in the 1950s, coinciding with the construction of the port. The road was built especially for the transport of goods between the capital and the port, by heavy trucks and containers. Portions of NH4 were considered toll roads, with three stations to collect fees. All toll stations have now been removed, the entire road is now toll free. Phnom Penh (; km, ភ្នំពេញ, ) is the capital and most populous city of Cambodia. Skuon ( km, ស្គន់) is the district capital of Cheung Prey District, in Kampong Cham Province, Cambodia. This busy market town has grown up around the intersection of National Highway 6 (Cambodia), National Highway 6 and National Highway 7 (Cambodia), National Highway 7. Skuon is around west of the provincial capital at Kampong Cham (city), Kampong Cham city and north of the Cambodian capital Phnom Penh. National Highway 7 or National Road No.7 (10007) () is one of the national highways of Cambodia. With a length of 509.17 km it connects Skuon with Trapeang Kreal, international border checkpoint with Laos.
