AFL Women's All-Australian Team
The AFL Women's All-Australian team is an all-star team of women's Australian rules footballers playing in the AFL Women's (AFLW), selected by a panel at the end of each season. It represents a complete team, including interchange players and a coach, of the best-performed players during the home-and-away season. The first AFL Women's All-Australian team was selected in 2017 following the competition's inaugural season. The team also follows the AFL's tradition of the All-Australian coach being the coach of that season's premiership-winning side, with no coach being selected in 2020 when no premiership was awarded. Despite its nature, the AFL Women's All-Australian team is only ceremonial: the AFL Women's has not played any all-star matches as of season seven, and the difference in skill level between the All-Australian team and the nearest international competitor is currently too large for any contest to be competitive. Emma Kearney (sportswoman)
Emma Michelle Kearney (born 24 September 1989) is an Australian rules footballer and former cricketer. A decorated midfielder in the AFL Women's (AFLW) competition, Kearney won the league's best and fairest award while playing for the in 2018 and has captained since 2019. She previously played cricket for the Melbourne Stars in the Women's Big Bash League (WBBL) and for Victoria in the Women's National Cricket League (WNCL). Melissa Hickey (born 18 December 1984) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Melbourne Football Club and the Geelong Football Club in the AFL Women's (AFLW). She served as Geelong captain in the club's first two AFL Women's seasons. She also played in the Victorian Women's Football League/VFL Women's for eleven seasons, representing the St Albans Spurs, and Geelong. Ebony Marinoff (born 15 November 1997) is an Australian rules footballer playing for the Adelaide Football Club in the AFL Women's (AFLW). Marinoff is a three-time AFL Women's premiership player and five-time AFL Women's All-Australian, and won the Adelaide Club Champion award in 2021. Kate McCarthy (born 24 October 1992) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Brisbane Lions, St Kilda Football Club, and Hawthorn Football Club in the AFL Women's (AFLW). Jessica Dal Pos (born 20 September 1993) is an Australian rules footballer playing for the Carlton Football Club in the AFL Women's (AFLW). Emma King (born 28 June 1994) is an Australian rules footballer playing for the North Melbourne Football Club in the AFL Women's competition. Early life and state league football King began playing competitive football at the age of eight.
