Cyprus Basketball Division A
The Cypriot Basketball Division A is currently the top-tier level men's professional basketball competition of the Cypriot basketball league system. It is run and governed by the Cyprus Basketball Federation. Format At present, six clubs compete in the league. Since the 2016–17 season, the six teams play each other four times during the regular season, with the top 4 teams reaching the play-off semi-finals stage. One team (the last one) at the end of the season is relegated to the second division, whilst one team from the second division is promoted. The play-off semi-finals and the championship winner will be decided after three wins. The championship winner, along with the winners of the Cypriot Cup, will qualify to compete in the next season's FIBA's European-wide continental competitions. 2002–03 FIBA Europe Regional Challenge Cup
The 2002–03 FIBA Europe Regional Challenge Cup was the one-season international European competition for men's professional basketball clubs, organised by FIBA. At the time it was 4th-tier level competition, after the Euroleague, ULEB Cup and the FIBA Europe Champions Cup. The aim of this tournament was to provide competitive international play for clubs that would otherwise be unable to participate in international basketball. The tournament was divided in two conferences - "North" (which consisted of 17 teams) and "South" (which consisted of 11 teams). The season started on 30 October 2002, and ended on 13 February 2003. Bruno Šundov (born February 10, 1980) is a retired Croatian professional basketball player. Standing at 2.21 m (7 ft 3 in), he played the center position. He played for five different NBA teams and over 20 clubs around the world. Professional career Šundov was a second-round draft pick of the Dallas Mavericks in the 1998 NBA draft, aged only 18, and played sparingly for a number of teams during a seven-year spell: the Mavericks (1998–2000), Indiana Pacers (2000–02), Boston Celtics (2002–03), Cleveland Cavaliers (2003–04) and the New York Knicks (January 2004 and 2004–05). He averaged 1.7 points and one rebound per game over his NBA career. Vassil Iliev "Vasco" Evtimov ( bg, Васил Илиев "Васко" Евтимов) (born 30 May 1977) is a French-Bulgarian former professional basketball player and head coach of BC Chernomorets in National Basketball League. Ilian Evtimov ( bg, Илиян Евтимов; born April 28, 1983) is a Bulgarian-French professional basketball player for Cholet of the French Pro A. He is a 6 ft 7 in (2.01 m) power forward.
