Abu Dhabi Combat Club
The ADCC Submission Fighting World Championship, is an international submission wrestling, submission grappling competition, organised by the Abu Dhabi Combat Club (ADCC). The inaugural tournament was held in Abu Dhabi, UAE in 1998. It has been held every two years since, except in 2021 due to the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic. Host countries have included Brazil, China, Finland, Spain, the UK, and the US. Competitors can only participate after winning ADCC trials or by invitation. While most athletes come from the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation, IBJJF Brazilian jiu-jitsu competitive scene, it is open to competitors from any grappling style. The 2022 edition took place in front of 13,000 fans in attendance at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas. Syracuse Orange Mark Kerr (born December 21, 1968 in Toledo, Ohio) is an American champion collegiate wrestler and retired mixed martial artist. During his MMA career he was regarded by many as the best fighter in the world, and was a World Vale Tudo Championship tournament winner, a two-time UFC heavyweight tournament winner, and a PRIDE FC competitor. In 2003, Kerr was the subject of an HBO documentary titled '' The Smashing Machine'', which detailed his MMA career fighting in Vale Tudo, the UFC and PRIDE. 2022 ADCC World Championship
The 2022 ADCC Submission Fighting World Championship was a two-day no-gi submission grappling event that took place on 17-18 September 2022 at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. History The tournament was originally scheduled to take place in September 2021 but was postponed to 2022 due to the international travel restrictions and the global lockdowns caused by the Covid 19 pandemic. Competitors have to qualify by finishing first of a continental qualifying events, known as ADCC Trials, or by being invited to compete by the organisation. Returning champions or previous world championships medallists are automatically qualified. Sam McNally, the lowest seeded competitor in his division () upset number one seed Garry Tonon in a 3-0 win. Kade Ruotolo won the 77kg division; at age 19 becoming the youngest ever ADCC champion.

Baret Yoshida
Baret Yoshida (born April 26, 1975) is an American mixed martial artist. He competed in the bantamweight and featherweight divisions. Biography Yoshida was born in Hawaii. He started training Jiu Jitsu in 1994 at Relson Gracie’s academy. In 1999, Yoshida switched to the Inoue brother’s gym, led by Egan and Enson Inoue. In 2002, Egan Inoue awarded Yoshida his black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. In 2022, Yoshida was inducted into the ADCC Hall of Fame as part of the inaugural class. Professional grappling career Yoshida gained recognition with his participation in the 2001 ADCC Submission Wrestling World Championship (Abu Dhabi Combat Club) where he made it to the finals, though he lost. Mário Sperry
José Mário Sperry (born 28 September 1966) is a Brazilian heavyweight mixed martial artist. His specialty is Brazilian jiu-jitsu, grappling and ground fighting. He is also one of the founders of the Brazilian Top Team, where he trained fighters such as Antônio Rodrigo Nogueira, Antônio Rogério Nogueira, Ricardo Arona, and Paulo Filho, among others. Saulo Ribeiro
Saulo Mendonça Ribeiro Filho (born July 2, 1974), brother of the equally famed Xande Ribeiro, is a 6th-degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ). After earning a black belt in Judo, he began his training of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Rio de Janeiro under Royler Gracie, the son of Hélio Gracie, at the famous Gracie Humaitá. Saulo received his black belt in BJJ on November 27, 1995. Less than two years later, he won his first MMA fight. Rafael Mendes Godoy (born 1989 in Rio Claro, São Paulo, Brazil) is a six-time Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) world champion at the black belt level. Rubens Charles Maciel (born December 24, 1979), aka "Cobrinha" and sometimes referred to as Rubens "Cobrinha" Charles, is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) competitor. Submission wrestling, also known as Submission grappling, Submission fighting a form of competition and a general term for martial arts and combat sports that focus on clinch and ground fighting with the aim of obtaining a submission through the use of submission holds. The term "submission wrestling" usually refers only to the form of competition and training that does not use a '' gi'', or "combat kimono", of the sort often worn with belts that establish rank by color, though some may use the loose trousers of such a uniform, without the jacket.
