These are the summaries of the matches in the qualifying rounds for the group stage of the 2011 CAF Confederation Cup. The schedule for the tournament was released in October 2010, and the draw for the first three rounds was held in Cairo on 20 December 2010. The draw for the play-off round (together with the draw for the group stage) was held in Cairo on 15 May 2010. Qualification ties were decided over two legs, with aggregate goals used to determine the winner. 2013 CAF Super Cup
The 2013 CAF Super Cup (also known as the 2013 Orange CAF Super Cup for sponsorship reasons) was the 21st CAF Super Cup, an annual football match in Africa organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), between the winners of the previous season's two CAF club competitions, the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup. The match was contested between Al-Ahly of Egypt, the 2012 CAF Champions League winner, and AC Léopards of the Republic of the Congo, the 2012 CAF Confederation Cup winner. It was hosted by Al-Ahly at the Borg El Arab Stadium in Alexandria on 23 February 2013. Al-Ahly won the match 2–1 to claim their 5th CAF Super Cup. Al-Merrikh Sporting Club ( ar, نادي المريخ الرياضي) is a Sudanese football club based in Omdurman. Their home stadium is Al-Merrikh Stadium, which is locally known as The Red Castle. Stade Malien is a Malian professional football and sports club based in Bamako. One of the two dominant clubs of Malian football, their eastern Bamako training grounds host other sports as well, including a successful basketball club. The 2012 CAF Confederation Cup group stage matches took place between August and October 2012. The matchdays were 3–5 August, 17–19 August, 31 August–2 September, 14–16 September, 5–7 October, and 19–21 October. The group stage featured the eight winners from the play-off round.
