ACT Sport Hall Of Fame
ACT Sport Hall of Fame was established by ACTSPORT in 1995. It was taken over by the Australian Capital Territory Government after ACTSPORT ceased operations in 2015. Inductees are announced as part of the annual CBR Sport Awards. ACT Sport Hall of Fame is physically located at the University of Canberra's Sporting Commons. There are two types of membership into the ActewAGL ACT Sport Hall of Fame: *Full Members – Athletes only, who have been retired for at least 3 years. *Associate Members – Administrators, officials, referees and other support staff. David Furner
David Furner (born 6 February 1971) is an Australian professional rugby league football coach who was the head coach of the Leeds Rhinos, and a former player. He is the former assistant coach for the South Sydney Rabbitohs in the NRL, and the former head coach of the Canberra Raiders with whom he spent his whole Australian playing career. A New South Wales State of Origin and Australia national representative goal-kicking second-row forward, he left the Raiders as the third greatest point-scoring forward in NRL history before enjoying a successful career in England with the Wigan Warriors and the Leeds Rhinos. Lisa Llorens
Lisa Christina Llorens, OAM(born 17 January 1978) is an Australian Paralympic athlete. She was born in Canberra. She specialises in Paralympic high jumping, long jumping, and sprinting, participating in competitions for athletes with autism. Llorens is known as "The Cheetah" because she has a great affinity with cheetahs. She commented "I feel like I have a connection with the cheetahs, because I'm quite shy, like a cat, and I run so fast." An educational documentary was made about her called ''Lisa Llorens: A Cheetah on the Track''. From 1998 to 2002, she held an athletics scholarship from the Australian Institute of Sport for Athletes with a Disability. Stephen Larkham
Stephen Larkham (born 29 May 1974) is a retired Australian rugby union professional player, currently in the role of head coach for Brumbies. He spent his career with the Brumbies in Super Rugby, for whom he played from the inception of the professional Super 12 in 1996 through 2007. He is best known for his long tenure with the Wallabies at international level, for whom he played 102 times. After initial selection at fullback from 1996 to 1997, Larkham was the first-choice Australian fly-half from 1997 to 2007, playing in the 1999, 2003 and 2007 Rugby World Cups. Ante Juric ( hr, Ante Jurić; born 11 November 1973) is an Australian football manager and former professional player. He was recently the Matildas assistant coach (201-15), the Australian under-17s and 19s women's national coach (2014–16) and was the Assistant national technical director (2013-2016) for the Football Federation AUs. Alex Jesaulenko
Oleksandr "Alex" Jesaulenko ( ; uk, Олександр Васильович Єсауленко, Oleksandr Vasiliovych Yesaulenko, ; born 2 August 1945) is a former Australian rules footballer and who played for the Carlton Football Club and the St Kilda Football Club in the Victorian Football League (1897–1989), Victorian Football League (VFL). He also served as a coach at both clubs. Jesaulenko is a Legend of the Australian Football Hall of Fame, and as a player was known for his versatility, uncanny balance and spectacular marking. Susan Hobson
Susan Elizabeth Hobson (born 13 March 1958) is a former Australian athlete. She competed at three successive Olympic Games and two Commonwealth Games. She started her competitive athletics career at the age of 27. She competed in the 10,000 metres at the 1992 and 1996 Olympics and in the marathon at the 2000 Sydney Games. She also represented her country at the 1991 World Athletics Championships in 10,000 metres. She competed at two Commonwealth Games – 10,000m at the Auckland games in 1990 and marathon at the 1994 games in Victoria, British Columbia. James Hird
James Albert Hird (born 4 February 1973) is a former professional Australian rules football player and past senior coach of the Essendon Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Hird played as a midfielder and half-forward, but he was often given free rein by then-Essendon coach Kevin Sheedy to play wherever he thought necessary. Hird was a highly decorated footballer, with accolades including the 1996 Brownlow Medal and membership of the Australian Football Hall of Fame. Bruce Hick (born 20 August 1963 in Rockhampton, Queensland) is an Australian national champion, three time World Champion and dual Olympian lightweight rower. He represented Australia over a fifteen-year period and rowed at ten World Rowing Championships. Club and state rowing A sculler, Hick's senior rowing started from the Leichhardt Rowing Club in Rockhampton, Queensland. He first began contesting national championships events at the Australian Rowing Championships in 1985 in an u/23 single scull – he placed second. By 1987 Hick had relocated to Canberra. George Musarurwa Gregan AM (born 19 April 1973) is a retired Australian rugby union player, and is currently Australia's most capped international player. Gregan was born in Lusaka, Zambia. He played Super 12 (now Super Rugby) for the Brumbies from the inception of that competition in 1996 through 2007, helping to lead them to overall victories in 2001 and 2004.
