''ACM Transactions on Algorithms'' (''TALG'') is a quarterly peer-reviewed scientific journal covering the field of algorithms. It was established in 2005 and is published by the Association for Computing Machinery. The editor-in-chief is Edith Cohen. The journal was created when the editorial board of the ''Journal of Algorithms'' resigned out of protest to the pricing policies of the publisher, Elsevier. Apart from regular submissions, the journal also invites selected papers from the ''ACM-SIAM Symposium on Discrete Algorithms (SODA)''. Edith Cohen
Edith Cohen (born May 21, 1966) is an Israeli and American computer scientist specializing in data mining and algorithms for big data. She is also known for her research on peer-to-peer networks. She works for Google in Mountain View, California, and as a visiting professor at Tel Aviv University in Israel. Education Cohen is originally from Tel Aviv, where her father was a banker. She earned a bachelor's degree in 1985 and a master's degree in 1986 from Tel Aviv University; her master's thesis was supervised by Michael Tarsi. She moved to Stanford University for her doctoral studies, and completed her Ph.D. in 1991 with Andrew V. Goldberg as her doctoral advisor and Nimrod Megiddo as an unofficial mentor. Scopus is Elsevier's abstract and citation database launched in 2004. Scopus covers nearly 36,377 titles (22,794 active titles and 13,583 inactive titles) from approximately 11,678 publishers, of which 34,346 are peer-reviewed journals in top-level subject fields: life sciences, social sciences, physical sciences and health sciences. It covers three types of sources: book series, journals, and trade journals. Susanne Albers
Susanne Albers is a German theoretical computer scientist and professor of computer science at the TUM Department of Informatics, Department of Informatics of the Technical University of Munich. She is a recipient of the Otto Hahn Medal and the Leibniz Prize. Education and career Albers studied mathematics, computer science, and business administration in Osnabrück and received her PhD (Dr. rer. nat.) in 1993 at Saarland University under the supervision of Kurt Mehlhorn. The impact factor (IF) or journal impact factor (JIF) of an academic journal is a scientometric index calculated by Clarivate that reflects the yearly mean number of citations of articles published in the last two years in a given journal, as indexed by Clarivate's Web of Science. As a journal-level metric, it is frequently used as a proxy for the relative importance of a journal within its field; journals with higher impact factor values are given the status of being more important, or carry more prestige in their respective fields, than those with lower values.
