TRIM32
Tripartite motif-containing protein 32 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the ''TRIM32'' gene. Since its discovery in 1995, TRIM32 has been shown to be implicated in a number of diverse biological pathways. Structure The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the tripartite motif family, tripartite motif (TRIM) family. The TRIM motif includes three zinc finger, zinc-binding domains, a RING domain, RING, a B-box type 1 and a B-box type 2, and a coiled coil, coiled-coil region. Subcellular distribution The protein localizes to cytoplasmic body, cytoplasmic bodies. The protein has also been localized to the cell nucleus, nucleus, where it interacts with the activation domain of the Subtypes of HIV#HIV-1, HIV-1 Tat (HIV), Tat protein. The Tat protein activates transcription of HIV-1 genes. Interactions TRIM32 has been shown to Protein-protein interaction, interact with: * actin, * ABI2 * Myc, c-Myc, * dysbindin, and * PIAS4, piasy, Function Mechanism Curren ...

Abl Gene
Tyrosine-protein kinase ABL1 also known as ABL1 is a protein that, in humans, is encoded by the ''ABL1'' gene (previous symbol ''ABL'') located on chromosome 9. c-Abl is sometimes used to refer to the version of the gene found within the mammalian genome, while v-Abl refers to the viral gene, which was initially isolated from the Abelson murine leukemia virus. Function The ''ABL1'' proto-oncogene encodes a cytoplasmic and nuclear protein tyrosine kinase that has been implicated in processes of cell differentiation, cell division, cell adhesion, and stress response such as DNA repair. Activity of ABL1 protein is negatively regulated by its SH3 domain, and deletion of the SH3 domain turns ABL1 into an oncogene. The t(9;22) translocation results in the head-to-tail fusion of the '' BCR'' and ''ABL1'' genes, leading to a fusion gene present in many cases of chronic myelogenous leukemia. The DNA-binding activity of the ubiquitously expressed ABL1 tyrosine kinase is regulated by ...

ADAM19
ADAM19 (A Disintegrin And Metalloproteinase 19, MADDAM, meltrin beta), is a human gene. Function This gene encodes a member of the ADAM (a disintegrin and metalloprotease domain) family. Members of this family are membrane-anchored proteins structurally related to snake venom disintegrins, and have been implicated in a variety of biological processes involving cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions, including fertilization, muscle development, and neurogenesis. This member is a type I transmembrane protein and serves as a marker for dendritic cell differentiation. It has also been demonstrated to be an active metalloproteinase, which may be involved in normal physiological and pathological processes such as cells migration, cell adhesion, cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions, and signal transduction. Alternative splicing results in two transcript variants. Interactions ADAM19 has been shown to interact with ABI2 Abl interactor 2 also known as Abelson interactor 2 (Abi-2 ...

Protein
Proteins are large biomolecules and macromolecules that comprise one or more long chains of amino acid residues. Proteins perform a vast array of functions within organisms, including catalysing metabolic reactions, DNA replication, responding to stimuli, providing structure to cells and organisms, and transporting molecules from one location to another. Proteins differ from one another primarily in their sequence of amino acids, which is dictated by the nucleotide sequence of their genes, and which usually results in protein folding into a specific 3D structure that determines its activity. A linear chain of amino acid residues is called a polypeptide. A protein contains at least one long polypeptide. Short polypeptides, containing less than 20–30 residues, are rarely considered to be proteins and are commonly called peptides. The individual amino acid residues are bonded together by peptide bonds and adjacent amino acid residues. The sequence of amino acid residue ...

Gene
In biology, the word gene (from , ; "...Wilhelm Johannsen coined the word gene to describe the Mendelian units of heredity..." meaning ''generation'' or ''birth'' or ''gender'') can have several different meanings. The Mendelian gene is a basic unit of heredity and the molecular gene is a sequence of nucleotides in DNA that is transcribed to produce a functional RNA. There are two types of molecular genes: protein-coding genes and noncoding genes. During gene expression, the DNA is first copied into RNA. The RNA can be directly functional or be the intermediate template for a protein that performs a function. The transmission of genes to an organism's offspring is the basis of the inheritance of phenotypic traits. These genes make up different DNA sequences called genotypes. Genotypes along with environmental and developmental factors determine what the phenotypes will be. Most biological traits are under the influence of polygenes (many different genes) as well as gen ...
