AA Evergreen District
The Evergreen District was a high-school athletics conference in the state of Virginia that stretched from Warren County to Prince William County. The Evergreen District member schools compete in 3A and 4A. Since 2013, the district has been used only for regular season competition. The Evergreen District was created to alleviate crowding in the Northwestern District caused by Liberty and Fauquier's return from AAA. The Northwestern District was thus split into two five-team districts, with the four schools in Frederick County joining with Skyline of Warren County and keeping the Northwestern District name. Warren County, being the eastern Warren County school, joined up with Brentsville and the three Fauquier County schools to form the Evergreen District. In 2013, Culpeper County High School and Eastern View High School entered the Evergreen District from the AA Battlefield District. Athletics Conference
An athletic conference is a collection of sports teams, playing competitively against each other in a sports league. In many cases conferences are subdivided into smaller divisions, with the best teams competing at successively higher levels. Conferences often, but not always, include teams from a common geographic region. Australian rules football The AFL Women's competition used a non-geographic conference system in 2019 and 2020. The league was divided into two conferences, based on ladder position in the previous season. Not every team could play each other due to the limited number of rounds, so conferences were introduced so that teams were only measured against the teams they played. The system was controversial because it allowed some weak teams to make finals, and strong teams from the other conference missed out on finals. Liberty High School (Bealeton, Virginia)
Liberty High School is a public secondary school in Bealeton, Virginia. The school is part of Fauquier County Public School System and is located at 6300 Independence Avenue. History Liberty opened in 1994 to alleviate crowding at Fauquier High School, the sole high school in Fauquier County at the time. The school was also built to accommodate the sprawling southern part of the county, close to the Fredericksburg area; this is one of the fastest-growing areas in Virginia. Liberty High School opened under the leadership of Mr. John C. Harrison, Liberty's first principal and longtime educator in the Fauquier County School System. Liberty's original administrative team included John C. Harrison, Roger Lee, Linda Neiderer and John Fitzgerald. Skyline High School (Virginia)
Skyline High School is a 9–12 public high school in Front Royal, Virginia, United States. It serves students residing in the western part of Warren County. History The school was built as a response to the growing population of Warren County. The new building, which opened for classes in Fall of 2007, educates 60% of the county's population. This uneven division was chosen to accommodate the growth anticipated for the eastern part of the county which is closer to Washington, D.C. where population and enrollment will increase faster at Warren than at Skyline. Warren County High School (WCHS) is a high school located in Front Royal, Virginia. The mascot is a ''Wildcat'' and its colors are Maroon and White. Warren County is a U.S. county located in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The 2020 census places Warren County within the Washington-Arlington-Alexandria, DC-VA-MD-WV Metropolitan Statistical Area with a population of 40,727. The county seat is Front Royal. Brentsville District High School, commonly known as Brentsville, is a public high school in Nokesville, Virginia, Nokesville in unincorporated Prince William County, Virginia, Prince William County, Virginia, United States, and part of Prince William County Public Schools.
