The NSW AAGPS (Athletic Association of the Great Public Schools) Athletics is one of the premier Athletics events in Australia. It is an annual event competed in between 9 member teams that include Saint Ignatius Riverview, St Joseph's Hunters Hill, Sydney Grammar, Sydney Boys High, Newington College, Scots College, The King's School, Sydney Church Of England (Shore), and The Armidale School. The Athletic Association of the Great Public Schools of New South Wales (AAGPS) is a sporting association of boys' schools in New South Wales, Australia that contest sporting events among themselves. The AAGPS was formed on 30 March 1892, and today has nine members - eight Sydney schools and one northern NSW country school. The descriptor 'Public School' references the historical usage of the term and the model of the British public school. Sydney Olympic Park Athletic Centre
Sydney Olympic Park Athletic Centre is a multi-use stadium in Sydney Olympic Park, Australia. The capacity of the stadium is 5,000 spectators. It also hosted the 1996 World Junior Championships in Athletics and served as the warm-up track for the 2000 Olympic Games, being connected by a tunnel to Stadium Australia, where the Olympic competition was held. This is an annual football competition played by teams from Sydney, Australia based boys high schools who are members of the AAGPS History The official football competition commenced in 1988 * 1st Grade The Wanderers' Cup for AAGPS Soccer presented in 1988 by The King's School to mark the first school-based game of Soccer in Australia between The King's School and The Gentlemen Wanderers played in Parramatta on 14 August 1880. * 2nd Grade GPS 2nd Soccer XI Premiership first awarded in 1988. AAGPS (NSW) Basketball
The NSW AAGPS (Athletic Association of the Great Public Schools of New South Wales) is one of the premier basketball competitions played in Australia. It is an annual, 7 round competition played between 8 Sydney member teams that include Saint Ignatius Riverview, St Joseph's Hunters Hill, Sydney Grammar, Sydney Boys High, Newington College, Scots College, The Kings school and Sydney Church Of England (Shore). Preseason games are played in Term 4 of the particular season, with the official GPS games played in Term 1 every Saturday. 1st grade games commence at 11:15 and often attract large games. The 1st grade premiership is currently held by Sydney Church of England Grammar School (Shore) while the Rashcke cup is held by Newington College. In 2nd grade the premiership is held by St Ignatius College while the PJ Yeend Trophy is currently held by Sydney Church of England Grammar School (Shore). Henry Hutchison
Henry Hutchison (born 12 February 1997) is a professional rugby union player who represents Australia in rugby sevens. Born in Sydney, NSW and playing for Randwick at club level, he debuted for Australia in December 2015. Hutchison attended St Kevin's College, Melbourne and later Saint Ignatius' College, Riverview. He joined the Australian Sevens program in August 2015 after impressing for his local club side Randwick in Sydney's Shute Shield competition. Hutchison was due to represent Australia at the Commonwealth Youth Games in Samoa in September 2015 but such was the impression he made that he was promoted to the senior squad for the pre-season tour to New Zealand. He was part of the 12-man squad that helped Australia qualify for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio at the Oceania Sevens in November 2015. Tepai Moeroa (born 2 October 1995) is a Cook Islands professional rugby league footballer who plays as a , or er for the Melbourne Storm in the NRL and the Cook Islands at international level. Lachlan Renshaw
Lachlan Renshaw (born 2 April 1987 in Sydney, Australia) is a middle-distance track and field athlete and is the 2010 Australian Champion over 800 metres. He was also the 2008 800 m national champion. He represented Australia at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, finishing sixth in his heat in a time of 1:49.19. In 2010 he competed in the 800 m at the Delhi Commonwealth Games, progressing through the rounds to the final, but was unable to start in the final due to injury. Lachlan has also competed at the international level at the 2006 World Junior Championships (3rd in his semi-final), as well as the 2007 and 2009 World University Games, finishing fifth in the 800 m in the latter event. Tolutau Koula (born 2 September 2002) is a Tonga international rugby league footballer who plays as a and for the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles in the National Rugby League (NRL).
