A7 Motorway (Cyprus)
The A7 is a planned Motorway to link the city of Paphos with Polis, a small town in the north west of the island. Overview This motorway is one of the oldest demands of locals, due to number of accidents happened on the B7 road (current route towards Polis), and due to the constant heavy traffic on it. This is the first motorway project in Cyprus, which is going to be performed through the Design, Build, Finance and Operate method (DBFO). After several bureaucratic delays, plans are completed, and offers were made from 5 construction consortia. Although at first it was decided that the consortium called "Kinyras" was the preferred bidder, Kinyras claiming rising costs due to the ongoing financial crisis raising its financial demands, hence putting the whole project in hiatus. Following government's refusal to pay more for an already expensive project, talks moved to the second preferred bidder the Austrian-Cypriot consortium "Strabag-Nemesis". If an agreement is reached con ...

A2 Motorway (Cyprus)
The A2 motorway in Cyprus is a road which branches off the A1 at Pera Chorio-Nisou and connects to the A3. It is referred to locally as the Nicosia - Larnaca motorway ( el, Αυτοκινητόδρομος Λευκωσίας - Λάρνακας, tr, Lefkoşa - Larnaka yolu). It is also called "the tube" because it is mostly straight with a very limited number of exits. Two of its 6 junctions are limited access to facilitate access to Athienou. At the Rizoelia Junction, space has been made to construct a flyover from the A2 to the BS, as seen on Google maps.https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=Lympia,+Nicosia,+Cyprus&hl=en&ll=34.953177,33.573704&spn=0.008178,0.007274&sll=37.90067,23.734095&sspn=0.007873,0.007274&oq=lympi,+cyprus&t=h&hnear=Lympia,+Nicosia,+Cyprus&z=17 , View of Rizoelia Junction on Google Maps See also * A1 motorway (Cyprus) The A1 motorway, locally referred to as the NicosiaLimassol highway is the first and longest motorway built in Cyprus. Stroumpi
Stroumpi or Stroumbi ( gr, Στρουμπί ''Stroumpí'') is a small village in central Paphos District, Cyprus, and halfway between Paphos and Polis. The name of the village is said to derive from its founder, a man called "Stroumpos", or the shape of the surrounding hills (''stroumpoula'', meaning "rounded"). The village is known for its annual "Dionysia" wine festival named after Dionysos, the ancient Greek god of wine, that takes place next to central square where the Ayias Sophias church is located at the end of August. A now-defunct "Dionysos" volleyball team was based in Stroumpi and played in the Cypriot top league. A 6.0 earthquake in 1953 destroyed the original settlement at Stroumpi, killing many. The village was rebuilt at a nearby location shortly after. The village is located in an altitude of 453 m. It receives about 665 millimetres of rainfall annually. Stroumbi is located about 15 kilometres north-east of Pafos. The village is built at an average altitude of 450 ...
