A516 Road
The A516 road is a road in Derbyshire that runs from the A50 Junction 5, to the A601 in Derby. The road is used mostly for traffic flowing from the A50 to the A38. Route The road begins as Derby Road in Hilton, South Derbyshire, at a junction with the A50 The former route through Hilton is now the A5132. The trunk road bypasses Etwall crossing the former GNR Derbyshire and Staffordshire Extension which is now a cycle route (Route 54), finishing at a roundabout; the £2.6m bypass opened in February 1992. At the roundabout on the left is the large Seven Wells pub. The road passes the TOTAL Etwall Road Service Station on the right and climbs a hill. Approaching Mickleover, it becomes a dual-carriageway. Passing the Mickleover Court Hotel, the road enters the City of Derby. The road used to pass through Mickleover, which is now the B5020. Mickleover
Mickleover is a large suburban village of Derby, in Derbyshire, England. It is west of Derby city centre, northeast of Burton-upon-Trent, west of Nottingham city centre, southeast of Ashbourne, Derbyshire, Ashbourne and northeast of Uttoxeter. Bemrose Community School
The Bemrose School is a foundation trust all-through school situated on Uttoxeter New Road, Derby, England, with an age range of pupils from 3 – 19. Opened as a boys' grammar school in 1930, it became a co-educational comprehensive school in 1975. It then became an all-through school with the addition of a primary phase in 2014. History A new school called the Derby Municipal Secondary School for Boys was founded in Abbey Street, Derby, and opened on 12 September 1902. Royal Derby Hospital
Royal Derby Hospital is one of two teaching hospitals in the city of Derby, the other being the London Road Community Hospital. It is managed by the University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust. History The original hospital on the site was the Derby City General Hospital, which was built in 1927 and latterly focused on maternity and children's care. The hospital, which had become quite dilapidated, was demolished in September 2006. A new hospital was procured under a Private Finance Initiative contract to replace both the Derby City General Hospital and the Derbyshire Royal Infirmary in 2003. The new hospital was built by Skanska at a cost of £333 million. It was opened by the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh in April 2010. Beefeater (restaurant)
Beefeater is a chain of over 140 pub restaurants in the United Kingdom, owned by Whitbread. The chain's name references both the English figure of the beefeater, as well as its menu's meat (particularly beef) offering. The chain is positioned slightly upmarket of Whitbread's Brewers Fayre chain. History Beefeater was set up by the then Whitbread Brewery in 1974 with the opening of its first restaurant, The Halfway House, in Enfield. The premise was for simple food, such as prawn cocktails and char-grilled steaks, and was seen as a rival to Berni Inns.
