A10 (Croatia)
The A10 motorway ( hr, Autocesta A10) is a motorway in southern Croatia extending from the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina to the Croatian A1 motorway Ploče interchange. The motorway includes the Nova Sela border crossing. It connects to the A1 motorway in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The motorway is long. It is the shortest motorway in Croatia, but still important as a part of the Pan-European Corridor Vc. History On 15 May 2007, the Croatian Government and the Government of Bosnia and Herzegovina signed a Protocol on cooperation that defined the contact point of the Croatian and Bosnian-Herzegovinian motorways on the Corridor Vc, which caused a significant alteration of the Croatian A1 route near Vrgorac as well as a complete revamp of the A10 route. Hrvatske autoceste (HAC) or Croatian Motorways Ltd is a Croatian state-owned limited liability company tasked with management, construction and maintenance of motorways in Croatia pursuant to provisions of the Croatian Public Roads Act ( hr, Zakon o javnim cestama) enacted by the Croatian Parliament. Tasks of the company are defined by Public Roads Act and its Founding Declaration, and the principal task of the company is management, construction and maintenance of the motorways. In practice, Hrvatske autoceste is responsible for management or development the following motorway sections: A8 and A9 highways, part of the "Istrian Y" are operated by BINA Istra, while A2 is operated by Autocesta Zagreb–Macelj. The Croatian classification includes several classes of highways: * The main motorways are named A (''autocesta'') accompanied by one or two digits. By and large they are controlled-access toll highways with a ticket system. * Expressways (''brza cesta'') are limited-access roads with grade-separated intersections and by and large an increased speed limit without tolling. D425 is a state road in Croatia, connecting the outskirts of Ploče with the A1 (Croatia), A1 motorway connector at the Karamatići toll station. Its main purpose is a connection from the motorway to the Port of Ploče. The road is long. The road, as well as all other state roads in Croatia, is managed and maintained by Hrvatske ceste, a state-owned company. History The road was initially built as a single connector route between the A1 and the Port of Ploče, at the time designated as part of A10 (Croatia), A10. The dual carriageway part of the route was built in two phases, the first between finished in December 2008, and the second in December 2013. The dual carriageway extends from Karamatići to the Radonjić Viaduct. Under the current official road classification, , the D425 ends at the toll station, while the continuation of the road to the north, a expressway connector from the Karamatići toll plaza to the A1 Ploče interchange, is not classified as part of the D425. ... D9 is a state road connecting Metković border crossing to Čapljina and Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina and D8 (Croatia), D8 state road south of Opuzen. The road is long. The road also provides connection to A1 (Croatia), A1 motorway Ploče interchange and A10 (Croatia), A10 motorway Kula Norinska interchange via the D62 (Croatia), D62 state road and cities of Metković and Opuzen. Metković () is a town in the Dubrovnik-Neretva County of Croatia, located in the southeast of the country, on the banks of the river Neretva and on the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina. A nova (plural novae or novas) is a transient astronomical event that causes the sudden appearance of a bright, apparently "new" star (hence the name "nova", which is Latin for "new") that slowly fades over weeks or months.
