Azrael (comics)
Azrael is an alias used by multiple fictional characters appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. The original version, Jean-Paul Valley, was created by Denny O'Neil, Joe Quesada, and Peter Milligan, and debuted in ''Batman: Sword of Azrael'' #1 (August 1992). The second character to assume the alias was Michael Washington Lane, in ''Azrael: Death's Dark Knight'' #1 (May 2009). Both iterations are Christian vigilantes and assassins created by the Order of St. Dumas and/or its derivatives (i.e the Order of Purity), secretive religious organizations seeking to restore justice to Gotham City through religious extremism. Joe Quesada
Joseph Quesada (; born January 12, 1962'' Comics Buyer's Guide'' #1650; February 2009; page 107) is an American comic book artist, writer, editor, and television producer. He became known in the 1990s for his work on various Valiant Comics books, such as ''Ninjak'' and ''Solar, Man of the Atom''. He later worked on numerous books for DC Comics and Marvel Comics, such as '' Batman: Sword of Azrael'' and ''X-Factor'', before forming his own company, Event Comics, where he published his creator-owned character, Ash. In 1998 he became an editor of Marvel Comics' Marvel Knights line, before becoming editor-in-chief of the company in 2000. Extremism is "the quality or state of being extreme" or "the advocacy of extreme measures or views". Battle For The Cowl
"Batman: Battle for the Cowl" is a 2009 comic book storyline published by DC comics, consisting of an eponymous, three issue miniseries written and penciled by Tony Daniel, as well as a number of tie-in books. The central story details the chaos in Gotham City following the " Batman R.I.P." and " Final Crisis" story arcs, due to Batman's absence. His disappearance is actually caused by the character's apparent death at the hands of Darkseid in ''Final Crisis'', which causes dissension in the ranks of his allies and enemies who fight for the right to become the new Batman. Bane is a supervillain appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. Created by writer Chuck Dixon and artist Graham Nolan, he made his debut in ''Batman: Vengeance of Bane'' #1 (January 1993). Bane is usually depicted as a dangerous adversary of the superhero Batman, and belongs to the collective of enemies that make up the Batman's rogues gallery. Possessing a mix of brute strength and exceptional intelligence, Bane is often credited as the only villain to have "broken the bat", defeating him both physically and mentally. Arkham () is a fictional city situated in Massachusetts. An integral part of the Lovecraft Country setting created by H. P.
