Ali Azmat
Ali Azmat Butt (born 20 April 1970) is a Pakistani singer-songwriter, musician and actor. He is best known as the lead singer for the influential Sufi Rock band Junoon and for his subsequent solo career. In 2001, he became part of the first Pakistani band (Junoon) ever to perform at the United Nations General Assembly. Early life Ali Azmat was born in Havelian, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa where his grandfather was posted as station master of Havelian Railway Station, while he grew up in Garhi Shahu, Lahore, into a family of ethnic Kashmiri descent and speaks Punjabi as his native language. His father, Nazir Ahmed Butt, was a middle-class businessman, who died in 2013. He went to Sydney, Australia, for his higher studies, but soon returned to Pakistan before completing university. Sadia Azmat ( ur, عظمت سعدیہ; born 1990) is an English stand-up comedian of Indian descent. Early life Azmat was born in Leyton, England. At the age of 19, she started wearing hijab. Career Azmat had been working in call-centres of varying descriptions, but in 2010, Azmat started performing stand-up comedy. In August 2011, she performed her debut show ''Please Hold – You're Being Transferred to a UK Based Asian Representative'' at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival at the Laughing Horse @ Finnegan's Wake, which was directed by Deborah Frances-White. PNS ''Azmat'' is the lead ship of the missile boats of the Pakistan Navy based on the Chinese design Type 037II Houjian-class. ''Azmat'' was commissioned on 24 April 2012 at Tianjin, China after being launched on 20 September 2011. It has the pennant number 1013. Design PNS ''Azmat'' FAC(M) is a green water vessel and does not have blue water capabilities, and so it is mostly used to patrol the coast, and to assist the Coast Guard in any special operations that require extensive firepower. Armament PNS ''Azmat'' is equipped with eight C-802A anti-ship cruise missiles, carried in two quadruple missile containers. The vessel uses a fully automatic 23 mm gun. The decision to install the 23 mm gun was due to lack of hull space, which meant less storage area for 75-100 mm rounds required for larger guns and weight requirements.
