Azerbaijan Volleyball Federation
The Azerbaijan Volleyball Federation (AVF) ( az, Azərbaycan Voleybol Federasiyası) is the governing body of volleyball and beach volleyball in Azerbaijan. The Azerbaijan Volleyball Federation was founded in 1991, and became a member of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) and the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) in 1992. The Azerbaijan Volleyball Federation's president is Javid Gurbanov. Its headquarters are located in Baku. FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship
The FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship is an international volleyball competition contested by the senior women's national teams of the members of ' (FIVB), the sport's global governing body. The initial gap between championships was variable, but since 1970 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship, 1970 they have been awarded every four years. The current champions are the Serbia women's national volleyball team, Serbia, which won their second title at the 2022 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship, 2022 tournament in Netherlands and Poland. 1995 Women's European Volleyball Championship
The 1995 Women's European Volleyball Championship was the 19th edition of the event, organised by Europe's governing volleyball body, the Confédération Européenne de Volleyball. It was hosted in Arnhem and Groningen, Netherlands from 23 September to 1 October 1995. The two finalists qualified for the 1995 FIVB Women's World Cup. Participating teams Format The tournament was played in two different stages. In the first stage, the twelve participants were divided in two groups of six teams each. A single round-robin format was played within each group to determine the teams' group position. The second stage of the tournament consisted of two sets of semifinals to determine the tournament final ranking. The 1993 Women's European Volleyball Championship was the 18th edition of the event, organised by Europe's governing volleyball body, the Confédération Européenne de Volleyball. It was hosted in Brno and Zlín, Czech Republic from 24 September to 2 October 1993. 2022 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship
The 2022 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship was the 19th staging of the FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship, contested by the senior women's national teams of the members of the (FIVB). The Netherlands and Poland were dual hosts for this event. Serbia won their second title for the consecutive edition, beating Brazil in straight sets. Italy took the Bronze medal defeating USA. Tijana Bošković was again the recipient of the MVP award of the tournament. Host selection On 19 January 2019, FIVB announced that Netherlands and Poland were selected as dual hosts for this event. It is the first time that the women's World Championship has been hosted by two countries. The 2018 FIVB Women's World Championship was the eighteenth edition of the event, contested by the senior women's national teams of the members of the ' (FIVB), the sport's global governing body. The final tournament was held in Japan from 29 September to 20 October 2018. The final four was held at the Yokohama Arena in Yokohama. Serbia won their first world title, defeating Italy in five sets at the final. This was the first all-European final in the Women's World Championship history and the first final since 1990 that not featured a team from the Americas. 2010 FIVB Women's Volleyball World Championship
The 2010 FIVB Women's World Championship was the sixteenth edition of the competition. Like the previous tournament, the 2010 edition also was held from 29 October to 14 November 2010 in Japan, though the range of venues and locations was modified slightly (Matsumoto and Hamamatsu replaced Sapporo and Kobe in 2010). Twenty-four teams participated in the tournament. The tournament was won by Russia, who finished with a perfect record, defeating Brazil in the intense final game. Japan defeated the United States for the third place, winning their first bronze medal in the tournament history, and the first medal since 1978, having so far three gold and three silver already to their name. Russia won its second straight title, while Brazil was prevented from achieving a volleyball double of winning both the men's championship and the women's championship in the same year. The 2006 FIVB Women's World Championship was the fifteenth edition of the competition, contested by the senior women's national teams of the members of the ' (FIVB), the sport's global governing body. The final tournament was held from 31 October to 16 November 2006 in Japan. The finals involved 24 teams, of which 22 came through qualifying competitions, while the host nation and reign champion qualified automatically. Of the 32 teams, 16 had also appeared in the previous tournament in 2002, while Cameroon, Costa Rica, Kazakhstan, Turkey and Serbia and Montenegro made their first appearances at a FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship.
