Authentic Croatian Party Of Rights
The Authentic Croatian Party of Rights ( hr, Autohtona-Hrvatska stranka prava or A-HSP) is a far right, and social conservative political party founded in Koprivnica, in 2005, after the merging of Croatian Rightists and Croatian Right Movement. The goal of the Movement is to unite all ''rightist'' parties in Croatia such as the HSP, the HSP 1861, the HČSP and others. It was very critical of the HSP's political positions until 2009. A-HSP is pro-life and advocates protection of marriage as well as motherhood, children and youth, people of special needs and the nature. It is strongly against Croatian accession to EU and NATO and advocates irredentism of Bosnia, Herzegovina, Bay of Kotor, Syrmia and Bačka. The party changed its name from United Supporters of the Croatian Party of Rights Movement to Autochthonous Croatian Party of Rights in 2009. Croatian Nationalism
Croatian nationalism is nationalism that asserts the nationality of Croats and promotes the cultural unity of Croats. Modern Croatian nationalism first arose in the 19th century after Budapest exerted increasing pressure for Magyarization of Croats; the movement started to grow especially after the April Laws of 1848 which ignored Croatian autonomy within the Hungarian Kingdom. Irredentism
Irredentism is usually understood as a desire that one state annexes a territory of a neighboring state. This desire is motivated by ethnic reasons (because the population of the territory is ethnically similar to the population of the parent state) or by historical reasons (because the territory formed part of the parent state before). However, difficulties in applying the concept to concrete cases have given rise to academic disputes about its precise definition. Disagreements concern whether either or both ethnic and historical reasons have to be present, whether non-state actors can also engage in irredentism, and whether attempts to absorb a full neighboring state are also included. Ranko Ostojić
Ranko Ostojić (; born 3 October 1962) is a Croatian lawyer and centre-left politician who served as the 11th Interior Minister in the Cabinet of Zoran Milanović from December 2011 to January 2016. Ostojić graduated from the Split Faculty of Law in 1988. He held various positions in Split-based companies, and became involved in politics in 1990 when he joined SDP. Between 2001 and 2004 he served as assistant to Interior Minister Šime Lučin during Prime Minister Ivica Račan's government and held the post of Director of Police. Before becoming government minister he served one term as MP in the 6th Sabor from 2007 to 2011 where he chaired the parliamentary committee for internal affairs and national security. 2013 European Parliament Election In Croatia
European Parliament elections were held in Croatia for the first time on 14 April 2013 to elect twelve Members of the European Parliament. The members served the remainder of the Parliament's 2009–2014 term after Croatia entered the European Union on 1 July 2013. The country formed a single constituency, with members elected by proportional representation using open lists. Despite opinion polling predicting a decisive victory of the governing centre left SDP-led coalition, the centre right HDZ-led coalition won a razor-thin plurality of the vote. Bačka ( sr-cyrl, Бачка, ) or Bácska () is a geographical and historical area within the Pannonian Plain bordered by the river Danube to the west and south, and by the river Tisza to the east.
